Dear friends, I have got a good bloodline of rottweiler and right now he is 12 months complete. He is very freindly by nature upto that much that anyone with the wrong impression that rotties are furious and wanting to buy the same the pet shop guys in my town make theie customers meet my dog to show that they are friendly. But he IS alert at the night. Now I have till today taught him obidience like NO, SIT, and the rest is still to teach and i feel that it's better I myself teach him the training work gradually as time goes by. But I am confused that I may not get late as he is growing and suddenly one day I come to know that he has become a spoiled brat.
Please let me know whether I am on the right path or not that the way I am traiing him day by day is okay or should I speed up the training process.

they should meet yr dog at shows and also dont promote pet shops to sell dogs.

ThankYou friend, my dog is a friendly fellow. I was trying to ask for the obedience training. The pet shop people know how friendly he is , so when a customer approaches them for a rott. and if they are in dilema that rotts a'nt friendly they bring their customers at my place to clear their dounbts, that's all. Again would like to know whether these guys i.e.the rotts will learn their obidience as time goes by or do you have to spacial train them profersionally.

For your needs, it seems that basic obedience is necessary and enough for your dog (unless you really want a reliable protection dog, you will teach him how to be alert and bite upon command). Yes, rotties are generally dominant dogs, especially after they have reached maturity, so it is important to train your dog. Before 1 year, your dog should be able to know all the basic obedience commands, as the imprinting stage of the dog's mental development occurs very very young.. It's not too late, though. But it would be so much better and less confusing for you and your dog if you have a professional help you out with your lessons. I hope I helped. :)
