cheating by reputed breeder - Page 1

Sorry for the bad experience....

You are a victim of what many dog lovers are also suffering from. I dont think he will take the dogs back. If you want good Dogs, then attend Dog Shows and enquire about reputed breeders. I too am sorry for your bad experience..
But you obviously didnt do your homework before you made the purchases otherwise you would have gone to a more reputable breeder in your country. I am in Canada and I do know that Mr. Grewal in India is an honest man, I have done business with him myself. When you purchased these dogs did you ask for copies of there HD /ED then ?? or did you just take his word for it ? Unless you are purchasing a puppy, please ask for all copies of papers and if it is a puppy you want copies of all the parents clearances. He obviously lied about the pregnant bitch point blank if she came into heat within a 15 day span. Not a person I would want to deal with for sure.

From My experience with People looking for pups (ofcourse in India) is that many people are not willing to do the proper homework , and therefore have completely different expectations then what the "reality" of the situation is. Many here will Claim there dog has X titles , International Champion Titles , CACIB's and what not and most often they arent true or the Acheivments of the dog are falsly stated.

I am not saying that this is what happened to you but just what my expereince as a breeder and a student of Rottweilers In india has taught me. I agree with brenda , a close scruitiny of the papers , health , genetics , bloodlines etc needs to be done before one jumps into getting themselves a dog. Mr Grewal is my Uncle , partner and he is a very reputable figure in this breed. There are Plenty of reputed breeders in India , i am sorry for your bad expereince .

That really bad to here.. I agree to gaurav that lots of  home work should be done before buying.Mr sumit should have shown some responsibility of or else he will end up in spoiling his reputation..

This is indeed awful. I am ad that you had to face these problems.  I am sadder about the female which he cheated with you. Related with the Dog stuff and his HD problem, this is not only the Breeders fault but I would say the complete Club is at fault that we allow such parent to be brought to the country which have these type of genetic problems. If the source is banned we will not have such dogs being bred in the country. The Label of import fancies many people but no one looks at the core that why the dog is being sold from other county, co he is not worthy of that country, as simple as that.
More over if the dog/bitch is bought as a puppy; I would recommend the buyer and the breeder to keep an agreement that In case of any genetic disease the puppy will be replaced. This is what happens in the foreign country as well. The problems like the HD, ED are not visible until the dogs are 2-3 yrs old or may be even later. So a breeder cannot even say if the puppy if ought to have such type of disease, but for sure he should be aware of the pedigree and the history of the bloodlines.
I know many novices are cheated in this sense and this is the reason we should educate every time a new customer comes in to buy a puppy from a breeder. I being a GSD breeder, make sure that I have a clear communication with the customers I am selling my puppies. These is nothing bad and you have no control in what comes out of the breeding like in my case I have occasionally seen that a puppy is monochords, sometime a long coat can also come due to some genetic issues in the bloodlines, but these are much minor things then getting a HD/ED as the major clinical issues for a DOG. I make sure I am communicating this to the buyer that these types of dogs cannot be shown in the conformation shows, but they will be very good Home pet and great guard dogs as I am more aware of their temperament.
I would request the breeder and the buyer to make sure the communication is proper then if possible any legal action can be taken.
I indeed feel sad that in the present respect a person got cheated with two of the dogs from the same breeder but I want to ask the person, whether he has any communication related with any faulty specimen if found. Also no one can guarantee if the dog will come in lineup or not, it is 1000% judges preference, some judge can like a dog which another judge may not.
Try to resolve this issue, I am sure you cannot part with your HD dog as well now, so better learn a lesson and teach as many people as you can so that they are not cheated like you. Try to talk with the breeder and see if he can negotiate on some things. All the best.

Its very bad to know that you are cheated by that man

but in dog world this is not new .Its very offen, some are only gentle who try to give good. But when knowlegable person like got cheated then we have to salute the cheater.Becoz he proves that he is biggest fraud. But bye this way u cannt settle the problem .U have to talk with him ,find a middle way and finish the matter. i also faced problem like this ,most of time you cannt do anything.
So concentrate on game and breeding people want good breeding from you

I spoke to Sumit Malik . My advise to you would be to be in contact with him and settle the issue amicably . This type of Public bashing serves little purpose other then to send a wrong message about Breeders in our Country. Whatever the issue might be it is best settled face to face , i am sure Mr Malik would be quite accommodative and reasonable.
