If i was buying mastiffs then by the pound seem right for $1500, Think that's what my sister paid for her Cane Corso. And she got a 100 lb bitch. My own dog have run much less and i work the crap out of them so that i get my money's worth! Heck I'm so darn cheap these days i'd squall to pay that much for a truck or car. (But that's just me!)
Least it wasn't a $3000 labradoodle.
I'd start calling about to westie breeders for a stud fee. Which is usually the price of a puppy.
good luck.

The price isn't outrageous. I mean I wouldn't buy a westie to begin with, just not one of my breeds, but I've paid that for a wellbred GSD with fantastic guarantees. What does your breeder say? Did he or she not point out when you got the dog that the testicle wasn't dropped? Is there any guarantee on the dog as far as testicles go? I'm sure your vet must have pointed it out early in its puppy visits, why wait until now? I know some drop, but if you were wanting a breeding dog, I'd go for one with both boys. If there's no guarantee on the dog, you got ripped off with the price. Good breeders would replace or partially replace the dog, if it were a guaranteed breeding dog at least. If you bought the dog as a pet, little steep for a pet price, but I don't know what Westie's are going for. I think you should contact your breeder and see if there's anything you could work out, or sell the dog as a pet, with the buyer being aware that he or she needs to neuter the male. I don't know if you'll be getting 1500 for a Westie, but you can try. Or count it as a loss.
