Xeph

The showing may have to be on you if it's going to happen.

And it may be.  And if that has to be the case, so be it.  Am I grateful he's in a good home?  Yes.  But she goes on and on and on about how she's going to enter him, and then doesn't do it.  I co own him, and she signed a contract saying she'd show.  I am not willing to sacrifice Wesson's ROM after waiting for a decade and a half for this.

I'm pretty easy to deal with, all that has to happen is for people to communicate with me.  Everybody does so except this person, and I have dealt with it for months.  All the other puppies have been shown at least once...nothing from this person.

I entered him in an upcoming show and told her I expect her to be there with him, or to let me pick him up and take him.  I don't want to be "that person" but Wesson's ROM is extremely important to me.

Xeph, I understand your point, too, and I know you appreciate that he's got a good home--and all the more so after Moto's experience--and having met you, you didn't strike me as someone who would be overbearing, so you have to wonder why she's holding back on something she not only agreed to do, but agreed to enter a co-ownership AND agreed to show the dog. Maybe something has changed at home, and she's hoping that if she drags her feet about showing him, you'll buy her out of her half and she can return him to you, and be able to tell her kids that it had to happen because 'the breeder really wanted him to be a show dog'.  The trick is going to be figuring out what's underneath her unwillingness to hold up that end of the contract... Hopefully you can find out, and maybe it's just 'cold feet'.

No kids involved or anything.  I just want to get him shown.  When he's finished, fine, I'll let it all be.  In the meantime, I'll be making sure he gets out.

I understand if people are having money issues.  I have been there.  It's cool.  Just tell me that you can't enter such and such a show and I'll work around it.  I'm not cruel, I just want honesty/to know what is going on.

Glad to hear that there's no reason she would be looking for a way to send him back to you without upsetting any kids...so yeah, she needs to woman up and come correct with you and either hold up her end of the contract re showing him, or be honest with you as to why she's flaking this way.  Hopefully she does one of the two, and soon, like this week-end!

That's great news, Xeph...best of luck next weekend, then, with all of Wesson's kids that are entered! Thumbs Up

I've had the honor of meeting two of the pups and Wesson last weekend. Very nice puppies with strong and serious personalities. Super Temperament and compared to other showlines rather moderately built. Personally, I like what Jackie has produced. :D

If you aren't so proud of these pups that your buttons pop clean off your shirt, lady, I'll have to drench you with a bucket of water next time I see you...this is a really solid, uniform litter of well-built, moderate GSDs,  and one of the nicest litters I've seen recently, regardless of what type of bloodlines we're talking about. Great work, Xeph.

And another thumbs up to you for offering your stacking skills to Baerenfang's Erbe so she could get some nice shots that show off the lovely structure of her pups, too--that's the kind of fellowship between GSD owners, where there's no sneering at the other person's preferred type of dog, that needs to be noticed and commended. You're a good person, and a great ambassador for the breed.
