My GSD has just turned 8 months old. She acts like she has forgotten a lot of her training. She is testing the wife and I on her boundaries. This includes her outside area and she wants to run. Any training advice during this stage will be much appreciated. Thanks to all in advance.

She hasn't forgotten it--she's doing exactly what you said: testing your boundaries. Seeing just how serious you and your wife really are about the rules. If she's not respecting them, then you need to go back to the basics. If you were previously working with a trainer and then stopped, it's time for the phase 2 refresher, now that she's maturing.

Not uncommon in dogs getting to their 'teenager' equivalent stage !

Agree with Hexe: go back to when you started training her and revisit every exercise from scratch, "refresh her memory", then she has no excuse ! Have fun. Oh, and it helps to check that both you and your other half are using exactly the same commands, and that one of you isn't confusing the dog by allowing her to get away with something the other one doesn't.

Can you be more specific? Also, at eight months, a dog has not really had much training or the maturity to increase the expectations of training that much. It is a lifelong process.

It’s easy to blame the dog, which may (doubtfully) be solely at fault. Ask yourself what I have done to allow this behavior to happen, and then work on your dog. Boundaries? If you gave her an inch, she would be a fool not to try and take a foot. Fixing the dog is always the easy part.
