German Shepherd DogYOUNG SIEGER(UK)2008 Korzwin RandyAlmost every BAD hip score comes from parents with good hip scores, and most also have litter mates with excellent hip scores. The basis of the Hip Schemes is to "identify them" - such is the nature of Hip Dysplasia. The German ZW scheme goes further and tries to identify the "family" influence of hips. ....15.5 years ago
German Shepherd DogVA9 2X VA1(CN) Furbo degli Achei (2006) SCHH3, IPO2Congratulations: A fabulous male, and an added thrill to experience the sheer joy of the Italian contingent during his outstanding Schutzdienst, his performance in the ring, and their joyous behaviour around the venue. ....15.7 years ago
German Shepherd DogV 9 BSZS + VA (ARG) Ober della Valcuvia SCHH3An exciting breeding prospect: Here is an extract from my Sieger Impressions 2006: I, again, offer the following explanation of these very important producing abilities which will help breeders understand where much of it originates from. It will also strongly emphasize the importance for breeders to more closely examine the producing females in a potential stud dog’s pedigree. Dux della Valcuvia - his powerful reproductive capabilities not only come through VA Max della Loggia dei Mercanti, they also come strongly through Una della Valcuvia. Una is the daughter of the outstanding female VA "Ulme de Valdovin", a female bred in Spain by Javier Mallo. Marko della Valcuvia is line - bred 3-2 on this fabulous female VA "Ulme de Valdovin" who was undefeated in Germany in 1996. Ulme was twice VA6 in Germany, Siegerin of Spain, two times Siegerin of Italy and also Belgian Siegerin. Ulme was a magnificent daughter of Sieger Visum vom Arminius and the Spanish Siegerin Ora von Batu. Look how the "della Valcuvia" breeder has based his kennel, and inbred Ulme. Many of her offspring follow her type. Ulme is a half sister to the great V male Lux de Valdovin SG3, (a Zamb v.d. Wienerau son and one of his best). Lux is apparent in many of the German VA's - like Larus, Untox etc. Lork de Valdovin was VA in Spain and one of the best Spanish producers of all time. Lina de Valdovin SG16 Germany, and of course Ulme, Lux, Lork, Lina, are all through the VA1 & Spanish Siegerin Ora v. Batu. Ora von Batu, mother to Ulme, is also sister to Ossa v. Batu mother to Immo v. Batu, a top producer in his own right, and sire of Australia's top producer of many years Iwan vom Lechtal. It is clear that much of Dux della Valcuvia's great 'producing ability' comes through several outstanding producing females. The results of the 2004 Italian Sieger Show emphatically illustrated the producing abilities of Marko della Valcuvia. The progeny of Marko at the 2005 German Sieger Show continued to re-enforce his producing abilities, as does the progeny of Quantum, and his son Zamp vom Thermodos, who at the 2005 Sieger Show had 13 daughters in the TOP 50 in the Jugend female class (junior class) and 7 males in the TOP 50 in the Jugend male class (junior class) – a TOTAL of 20 out of these 100 TOP GSD, ONE IN FIVE, a tremendous achievement. ....15.7 years ago
German Shepherd DogYOUNG SIEGER(UK)2008 Korzwin RandyLinda: There must be a lot of bigots in our breed. Far more comment to each other in this breed than on this database. Few are fooled or influenced by the few who comment on here. Many consider the anonymous ones as a joke and irrelevant, and almost certainly of no consequence whatsoever. I am sure the debate on the exhibiting of Randy will continue much more off this site. ....15.5 years ago
German Shepherd DogYOUNG SIEGER(UK)2008 Korzwin RandyI have been reading this thread very carefully, and I am simply amazed at the assertions being made. comment "I am certain it was trauma" (hips) - this comments simply illustrates ignorance of hip dysplasia, and the strength of a 'correct' ball & socket joint. comment "the owners hide nothing etc" - I have just checked the 2008 British Sieger Catalogue, YOUNG MALE CLASS - 10 entries - NINE ENTRIES WITH FULL DETAILS OF THEIR HIP SCORE/GRADE - ONE WITH "NOTHING REGARDING HIP STATUS" - You have guessed it, RANDY. I am aware that the British Kennel Club Shows allow dogs with BAD hips to be shown and recieve the highest awards - my question is: Does this make it acceptable? ....15.5 years ago
German Shepherd DogVidex RakellNew photo of Rakell taken when winning Junior Bitch & RCC at her first Show - Crewe CH. Show 7/12/2008, superbly handled by Jackie Young, Judge Fiona Anderson. We are thrilled with this super start to her Show career. Our sincere thank to all who gave us such wonderful comments about Rakell and for their congratulations. Our thanks to Jo for taking this photo. ....15.4 years ago
German Shepherd DogYOUNG SIEGER(UK)2008 Korzwin RandyPerhaps you will also agree that close to 100% of GSD in the UK, over 2 years of age, cannot be shown or bred from in Germany. Simply bec ause they do not have AALL of the required qualifications. Perhaps you would care to list such dogs in your kennel? or should I? ....15.5 years ago
German Shepherd DogYOUNG SIEGER(UK)2008 Korzwin RandyI was never told his hip score. I simply requested some factual information. Nothing more. I was hoping the score was better than what was anticipated by his owners. ....15.6 years ago
German Shepherd DogYOUNG SIEGER(UK)2008 Korzwin Randymissbeeb: SLIP AND SLIDE as much as you like, "CERTAIN" is the word you used. You appear to assume a great deal about me, you and others should realise there is a vast difference between assumption and FACT. ....15.5 years ago
German Shepherd DogV Ferdinand Feetback SCHH2, IPO1I tried to buy this male some months ago, unfortunately he was already sold. However I am delighted to have found out that he is now owned by some very good English friends of mine, and he will eventually be coming to the UK. For me Ferdinand is the best son of Esko, and having seen him whilst I was at the recent German Sieger Show, my impressions of him have been exceeded, I look forward to being allowed to use him one day. ....15.6 years ago
German Shepherd DogCH (UK) Ice vom Steinhauerberg SCHH3, IPO1I do not hide behind anonymity or ask my friends to do so and then attack someone else’s dog. It appears to me that too many in our breed have NO principles whatsoever. Whoever you are LONGSHANKS you are unaware of the facts. Ice failed his first Körung because the Körmeister stated he was TOO BIG. Another Judge/Körmeister who was present at that Körung actually questioned the decision, because another, clearly bigger dog was passed. Many other factors, including other SV judges/Körmeister’s subsequently measuring Ice at 66cms & 65cms & 65.5cms, one of these being at our British Sieger Show, when he was V3, led to permission being given for Ice to go to another Körung. He failed on his long bite, however he was measured. These measurements were submitted to the SV, and the ban on CH. Ice progeny being shown in Germany, and taking their full qualifications, SchH & Körung, was officially removed, and I have a letter to that effect from the SV. The pedigree of Ice has been appropriately and officially amended. Ice will take his Körung again next year. Most people involved with GSD, who have any knowledge of Schutzhund and the Körung, know that sometimes shit happens, look at any working trials and occasionally dogs have an off day and disappoint, they are NOT machines. Ice is world class, and his show record speaks for itself, you may like to pay particular attention to his Swiss Youth Sieger result, and ask those that were present which dog was a star of that show, when winning over the SG5 and SG6 of the German Sieger Show, held a few weeks earlier. FACTS. I could mention many dogs in the UK that are much bigger than Ice, especially several Champions, some having a Körung, even though they are at least 68cms. ....15.5 years ago

German Shepherd DogCH (UK) Ice vom Steinhauerberg SCHH3, IPO1CRUFTS 2008 We were thrilled with CH.Ice winning 2nd in OPEN DOG and then winning RCC to Sieger Zamp vom Thermados CC & B.O.B. To have had CH. Ice in the same ring with Sieger Zamp at this major show and seeing them together and also filmed and photographed together was fantastic. Added to this our outstanding CH. Ice son Videx Luigi won the Junior Dog Class, and also shared the ring with Zamp in the Challenge. Our sincere thanks to everyone for their warm congratulation on our wins on this very memorable occasion. David & Rhoda VIDEX GSD ....16.2 years ago

German Shepherd DogCH (UK) Gayville's NiloOur thoughts are with you Davy & Joan & family AND FINALLY If it should be that I grow weak and pain should keep me from my sleep. Then you must do what must be done, for the last battle can't be won. You will be sad - I understand, don't let this grief stay your hand. For this day, more than all the rest, your love for me must stand the test. We've had so many happy times, what has to come can hold no fears. You'd not want me to suffer so, the time has come, please let me go. Take me where my needs they'll tend, and please stay with me to the end. Hold me firm and speak with me, until my eyes no longer see. I know that in time you will see the kindness that you did for me. Although my tail its last has waved, from pain and suffering I've been saved. Please do not grieve, it must be you who has this painful thing to do. We've been so close, we two, these years, don't let your heart hold back its tears. ....16.1 years ago
