I want to breed my little pup (in 2 years or so) with an import male and instead of trying to get the male papered over here with AKC (aint happening) or UKC I was wondering if it was possible to do it backwards, and get the bitch FCI registered as a BBS.
Any idea how this could be done?
She has one colored GSD in her 4 gen pedigree (great grand dam), but her grand sire (out of the colored bitch) is FCI registered as a BBS.

Hello, it would help if you would tell in which country you live, and if you would write out or explain all the abbreviations: AKC, UKC, BBS, ... . The way to get FCI papers for a White Swiss Shepherd is to present her or him to a judge at an FCI Dog Show in one of the countries where they are held, with a registration through your local or national club or governing body that recognises the breed and in which you and/or the breeder of your pup are registered members. Your dog must have 3 generations white ancestors only to have a chance to obtain FCI papers as w White Swiss Shepherd Dog.

Hi Riverlands
In theory what your saying is correct ,but in reality it is different Personally I would think,! the best way forward for mgarfias , would be to contact the committee of the BBI ,many of their members have succesfully imported and reregistered Germam shepherds from England and the USA You really have to know the nuances of the variouse Kennel clubs within the FCI and at this, the BBI excel http://www.berger-blanc-international.com/#BBI Executive Committee If it was me wanting information, I would contact the Austrian BBI committee members, The Austrain Kennel club have looked favorable on reregestration in the past and Mrs Kappacher is not only on the committee of the BBI but also high up in the Austrian Kennel club and also fluant in English http://www.oekv.at/oekv/oekv-buero.html Another alternate would be to contact the former president of the BBI Mr Bortal ,whilst the German Kennel club do not rereg ,Reregistered dogs from other FCI countries have been used for stud within the German breed club RWS and Mr Bortal should be able to inform you which countries they were registered in and maybe give you contacts
