But I see people breeding females who have already produced back to back litters in EU, then import them bred, ( better to recoup expenses I guess) then breed for another litter, then sell the female bred, to the next kennel and passing her from kennel to kennel being bred back to back till she dies in whelp....that to me is a travesty.
It's not just you who finds that a travesty, Joan. It is one of the biggest. maybe the biggest, shames of the GSD world. Those poor females.....when I first learned of that practice years ago I sat down and cried and it still bring tears to my eyes when I see ads for pg bitches for sale or "now in heat ready to be bred any day". Even bitches whelping in their crates in the belly of an airplane. And breeders in the US are unethical because they breed a bitch on 2 consecutive heats and there are no rules about breeding them? Gimme a break....talk about a double standard.

If people are too LAZY to do the research themselves on what is truly, biologically best for THE DOG, then they should shut their mouths.

Yes, I agree. The breeders who pull crap like that should go out and find jobs instead of extracting blood money from helpless dogs. It makes me physically ill to even think about it.

Seriously, Joan? BM is usually rude to everyone here, so he's sort of getting what he gives.

What about us, the Europeans, who don´t have use of the females any longer and sell them pregnant or in heat?
The Americans carry on what we began ( and even advertize ! )
It´s about money in Europe and it´s about money elsewhere-and everybody who says that he/she takes a look at the health of the female prior to breeding is doing much more than a lot of others out there.
We could talk about ethics for hours-we aren´t better, we only are more subtle, and - amazingly - people outside of Europe believe in us...
