Not everyone wants a High Drive dog...In fact so many would think this type dog would be a real pain to own...
There are good reasons to combine a Working line dog with a Showline dog...

establishment of show branches among the type of dogs meant for work have been, is and always will bring those breeds to a dead end.
thus development in GSD breed the type of the dogs, whose only "work" means from time to time to demonstrate to judges their "beauty", was pretty bad and costly mistake for breed from very start.
but would be interesting to see a list of "good reasons to combine a Working line dog with a Showline dog" instead of just let them die out and disappear per se.

So IF the pedigree looks good to you (whatever that means) and a Working line dog has a good pedigree and a Showline dog has a good pedigree You're thinking it's a good breeding? I've seen many Working line X Showline breedings...I have never been so impressed that I want to go out and buy one... I guess it all depends on what you're looking to produce...Good Working Ability...or...a Good dog for Breed Shows? ~Bob~
Bob, no, that's not what I mean. That's not what I said. I'm just saying that if two GSDs have the ideal qualities, passing health, etc., And if they are a good pair regarding complimenting those qualities, it shouldn't matter whether they are show or working. The point is to produce better than the pair. That's all I'm saying. No harm, just typing out loud. :-)

and before anyone loses their undies, yes I realize trials are not a true test of working ability, I'm just saying.
being stuck at home and watching lots of Police videos on youtube, I do see quite a few B/R dogs doing police work.
just bored,

Did not see pedigree but even without seeing would like to give input. What would be equal to good pedigrees would be for the need of very good conformation ratings. since a breeding would be a complete outcross this would need to be of necessity it is my understanding that this type of breeding was done in the pass when looking to reinforce traits of desire. so as long as this was the intent then go for it.

Imagine a dog that can't be taken out unless on leash or e-collar, or confined area and you have more prey drive. every leaf blows by and they are off. maybe easy to train, maybe not so easy to live with.
