I would like to get some feedback on my 10 month old American Bulldog puppy.  I have done a pedigree search with the names on his certificate of pedigree. I can find all of the sire info but nothing on the dam's side at all.  People who see my dog always ask if it is a pit bull. I am wondering if my dog is actually a mix instead of purebred?

Who did you get him from?

I believe he came from a pet store but I am not sure.  I got him from my neighbor who was moving and could not take the dog. He is very sweet and has lots of enegry.  I just want to know what I really have.

You have a beautiful happy gorgeous dog. That is what really matters, isn' it? You may never know, unless you do a DNA test. Really though, I just want to hug him. He looks so happy.

He looks like one.  Just because you can't find info on his dam in here, doesn't mean that it's not a valid pedigree.

Don't worry about people asking if he is a pit...I've had people ask if my american bulldogs are pits, boxers, boston terriers, mastiffs, etc, and my dogs are show champions with pedigrees full of well known bulldogs.  The general public just has no clue.

Can you post the names of his parents? Someone might know who they are. Where are you located? Are they from StoneHenge Kennels? Because that breeder is the biggest American Bulldog puppy miller in the country. And i had a dog fro him. She passed away about a year ago at 13.
Your pup looks to be more the "Performance" or "Standard " type bulldog and not the "Classic or Johnson" type. If he's from a pet store have him neutered and enjoy your pet.

The breeder I believe was Debra Pratt.  The Sire is Oliver Lee Secrest's and the Dam is Just Peachie. The lines for the sire go back to Secrects's of Jerry Lee of HTB, SECREST'S SASSY SASHA,KMK'S MAC'S KING MUFFASSA OF MGK and GEORGIA'S MAGNOLIA JOY.
I have just had him neutered.  I will contact the person I got the dog from and find out if it was from a pet store or not.  I really do love him.  I was just very curious about if he was an American Bulldog or not. I am concerned if he did come from a pet store or puppy mill is there anything I need to look out for with his temperament and health?  I have heard dogs from mills can have major issues.

Looks to be the Scott type Am Bulldog. When developing the breed they used several breeds, pits being one of them, hence the resemblence.
this is my Johnson bred Am Bulldog female at 4 months old.

From what i can find, he's heavy Johnson on his sire's sire and i don't have a clue on his mother's side. Though i tend to think she may have been of Johnson blood but the less massive type of bully dogs. He's got that weird head that Muffussa has when he was younger, it may suprise you later. Some lines take a long time to develop.
The dog i had was from a puppy miller but i didn't find that out until i'd had her for a while. Same situations basically, someone was moving wanted to dump the dog. I gave her a home. Great dog except she was very dog aggressive! Which i partially blame on her up bringing because she was over 6 months when i got her. Very good with people, loved children, i use to take her to the State fair as my friendly petting dog for the kids. She died of cancer at 13. And she never missed a chance to fight. I miss her but i don't miss the constant managment of the dogs. Get your pup signed up for obedience classes because these dogs are smart and training makes them better pets. Since he is a white/red nose watch for skin problems. Otherwise good luck with your new best friend.

awww  cute.  She's almost sitting down like a human !  They do resemble a pitt   IMO
and if they were made up of different dogs, hence the reason why you get the comments..
