I am trying to go through all of my old pedigrees and am already running into a problem with the duplicate entry. As many Border Collies carry the same name and truly can only be distinguished by the registration numbers I am not sure how to register the dogs. The dog in question is Mirk and the dog I am trying to register is also Mirk but with a different registration number.

Also, did the dogs get assigned AIBC numbers when they got imported from England?

Thanks

hmm.

My pedigree database explicitly uses the name as a unique identifier.

It used to be open for multiple names,  but the pedigree confusion and which to use became too much for users entering pedigree's with those names.

Perhaps for now just append (reg nr.) at the end of the name.  That will also notify future registrants that there are multiple versions of that name.

Regards

Thanks. I will give it a try. It would be nice to be able to do this.
