I'm with you Joseph, I thought he was going to do really well this year.

by joseph123 on 30 August 2009 - 16:08

So did I but I do not believe he competed for some reason which was also the case with a few others including Godalis Tino.

Thanks a million Judy for your quick results!
A lot of people will return home very unhappy today!

by JudyK on 30 August 2009 - 16:08

Why would so many people return home unhappy???  Results were fairly predictable were they not?   And I seem to recall teh same speech by Herr Meyer last year so what has changed?

Joseph, as already said on another thread, Tino has an injury, Aggasi resides with the Judge of the Adult Female class.

by joseph123 on 30 August 2009 - 19:08

Joyce,

Thank you for the update. I did see the other threads but wanted confirmation that it was the case.

Thanks again,

Joseph

Hero's half brother won again, cool!

Jantie
I agree with you. Vegas the epitomy of what Meyer SAYS the breed needs to get away from, and then crowns.

As for the broken topline in the Youth Sieger, this also is a terrible result for the future of the GSD breed.

Can anyone direct me to a transcript of the speech please?

by Jantie on 31 August 2009 - 15:08

I'm sorry I have to elaborate again Folks, in order to make GSD-people understand what happens. Just adding my 2 cents!
Many people would have expected Furbo to get a wonderful placing this year, after the VA9 from last year.

Sbstein wrote the following about that in another thread on this board:
“For those who see the siegershow on the nett by paying 15 euro (www.sv-media.de) we could see that Furbo made an OK couragetest. But when the dog came with his class I think his chance to get an Auslese this year to was 1%!! His fans made some terrible "Fotball-staion noice" when his class entered the ring trying to affect the judge. It was a absolutely terrible class, and I think that's the main reson why he didn't show up. Because of this he would easy been V20-30 I think... That would be a dissaster for the dog wich got VA last year. They also speak about some problems in his back (spondylosis) - but this is can be only roumers. My conlusion: Furbo is (was) a nice male after Quenn. He was quit popular for a time and difficult to get to because of his (some had to wait about 1 year standing on a list). But with such a bad and ordinary breeding result he is FINNISH!!”
END OF QUOTE

Now we have to take this one step further sbstein, if you will. We have all been able to read that Furbo's owner, Mister Luciano Musolino, was about to become an SV-judge. He was at the end of his trial period, which was merely a step on the ladder (to the SV-sky). However, at the end of his trial period he ultimately did NOT receive the mandate!? Now we may all speculate what the reason(s) for this denial was (were), fact is that it must have been a serious matter as he did not get the judge-mandate! Now I would have asked our Italian friends through the website of the Pastore Tedesco, but sadly enough, Italian is NOT one of my languages. What I do know is that the controversy in La Bella Italia, about what may have been the reasons, was that fierce, that the President of the Italian Association himself needed to address the public and defend the man in his homeland, pointing out what the good old man had done for the breed in Italy. We may never hear the real reasons, fact is, that when you have a falling out with the top of the SV-association, your dogs definitely will NOT be getting VA-placings. Better to withdraw them in time.

We have all read about the serious allegations Mister Schweikert (unvoluntarily) has offered the public. Now we have also witnessed how many dogs this kennel “aus Agrigento” threw into the competition in the past. 2004 there were still 10 competitors, 2005 I counted 11, just like in 2006 with 11 dogs. There must have arisen a few problems in the communication already before it culminated in the outings we have all read, only one single dog was presented this year 2009 (2008: 2) and it was a sold female. As long as Mister Meyer is in charge, there will be NO thank you’s towards dogs from the Agrigento-kennel. Elementary, Dr. Watson!

@ Dingodog: I wished that more people would share your views (and mine) and admit that one is ruining the breed completely.
Now from what I hear the speech was very well prepared, very nicely made with PowerPointPresentation-slides and all, but it was NOT handed out to the listeners! You might want to try and ask the SV to get a copy. I doubt it very much that you will get it though.

Reaction to the comment: “Aggasi resides with the Judge of the Adult Female class”
VA5 Dola vom Bergmannshof was in competiton! Was she not bred by Mister Meyer, Judge of the Adult Male Class?
(It's not because there is a name mentioned on the paperwork, that this person is the real owner of the dog, a lot of constructions are being used.)

Kind regards,
Jan Demeyere
Wishing everyone a healthy GSD!
