Bhall

nonacona60, I understand.  I am always second guessing myself that is why I posted.  Well, I got the answer.  Thank you.

I think they are mild to moderate personally , too much is already changing in the fumar head shape, thickening of the necks. HD does not need to be the end of the dog  as they can live a normal "pet life"  but as a working or breeding dog, I would have to pass. MPHO

I send all my hips to the SV . I had a bitch go OFA Fair and was a A3 in Germany, I would not waste my time sending them . OFA mod .Ask that the dog be rated in the country of origin before purchase. I always do if no hip or many times in Cz republic elbow ratings. the dog may have a long sound life but for breeding less than optimum

Here is my  opinion if you want it.
I do not know what you want the dog for. I personally, based on hips, would not use him for breeding. But even so others think otherwise these are what I call working hips.
I do not think that the dog will have any problem to perform during his working life. That is based on my honest experience. Thus if you want to use this dog as a stud then no. As a PP dog, security dog, or even patrol dog for police. No problem. I am saying this because I am selling dogs with hips like this to PDs and they check then with the vet and they buy such dogs with this type of a hips because they know the dog will have no problem with them. As far as OFA goes I'd say that it is hard to tell. OFA fair to border line. Just my honest opinion.

My opinion is that for only 22 mos., there is more remodeling than I would like to see. For example, I have a 7yr old w/an old injury that prevented him from certifying w/OFA. He has less change than this dog at under 2, so I think this dog, genetically, has inferior hips- UNLESS he was worked way too hard too young in a "weekend warrior" type way (kenneled 6/7 days, then worked very very hard one day a week). I wouldn't expect this dog to have any problems w/his hips, but I would not go to him for breeding, unless he could walk on water or something equally miraculous.

Positioning is excellent. The Hips would never pass. I would not breed this dog.

That is what I figured but I wanted other opinions.  Never hurts to get more opinions on an expensive dog.

Would not pass where ? In USA OFA? Maybe not,.... maybe yes.  But in SV Germany it would most likely pass!
Why am I saying that?
Keep in mind that "Noch zugelassen" means "still permisible" in Germany but by OFA standard it is mild dyspalsia. Many here said that the dog would not  be worse then mild dysplasia, but people accept Noch zugelassen all over the pedigrees with no problems but then they say it would not pass?  SV  thinks that it is still permissible for breeding! Please look into what you are saying.
I personally have no problem with one or so Noch zugelassen in 5 generations but I would not breed it . Many do. Would I use such dog for work? Absolutely!.
So which way is it?

Yes Prager I think the dog could still work.  For breeding;  NO.  And I don't feel he is good enough for Bhall with her experience and ethical background I don't care whom rates the dog.  Remodeling is remodeling.  And he is still young.  If  he was 5-7 maybe OK obviously working but still not for breeding.  Nan
