Radical, That's the last straw for me. Gwent just keeps digging themselves in deeper and deeper. Time for burial----Their's, not Saxon's.

Keep up the good work EVERYONE The story of SAXON has been circulated on the newswire, and many if nor most of the media is 'picking it up' This is without doubt a battel to be won, and the biggest human interest story at present. We must maximise the publicity. Confidence is growing for a succesful outcome, my personal thanks to Sheila Rankin, President of "GSD WELFARE" United Kingdom, who has been making strenuous efforts on behalf of Saxon since last week.

Also keep emailing the Gwent force lets take their server down again. What is their E-Mail adress? And who is the person(s) making this decision as they could be E-Mailed directly? Also its funny they do not have a death penalty in England... for criminals

Check theses out... This is coming from USA laws http://www.tampagov.net/dept_police/Special_Operations/K-9/K9_FAQ.asp Q. Is hurting a Police Dog the same as hurting a Police Officer? A. Injuring or killing a Police Dog is a 3rd Degree Felony punishable by imprisonment of up to 5 years in prison. http://www.ci.slc.ut.us/police/Operations/K9.htm Q: Is hurting a police dog the same as hurting a police officer? A: Injuring or killing a police dog is a 3rd degree felony punishable by imprisonment of up to 5 years. We invest considerable resources in our K9 partners and we consider them officers in every sense. They put their lives on the line every day to protect the community and the officers of the Salt Lake City Police Department. We encourage the citizens in the UK to protest and to boycott all vets who works for the police departments who are responsible for killing the retired police dogs.

Do we have any UK legal eagles who can advise on the legality or not of killing a police dog?

by LMH on 27 July 2006 - 16:07

Blitzin, The signatures added together from the two petitions amount to more than 2600. Truthfully, I wrote on another thread and wanted to bring this one back up. But, you probably figured that one out for yourself.

That's a lot of signatures. I keep wondering what is happening with him. I hope we hear something soon.

I wrote to Gwent direct and signed the petition. I hope they do the right thing. I will say one thing -- the police officers should ban that K9 Unit. If they have no officers willing to work K9, that will send a message as well. Police dogs as all of us know not only protect and serve but go home and love their family! I am so outraged by this! (when I say ban the unit I know they cannot just "not go to work" but the officers that are active in the unit should put in for transfers to a different unit and the officers that are thinking about going to that unit should not! If they have nobody to work K9 ... that is my point) My other thought is they must be really stupid... do they even consider what message they are sending to the public? To the average person who does not know any better the actions of this police dept. are saying "we put dogs on the street every single day that we would don't even trust in our homes, they are a danger, you cannot control them........etc" Great public relations right? The person behind this needs an education it is obvious that he/she knows nothing about the dogs in the K9 unit or GSD's! Lets keep up the letters!
