Just a thought in case it really was a burglar who had no connection to the dog world....did you try posting a generous reward?  Never know someone may know something and a reward might bring out some information to help you find her or who's responsible.  It's worth a shot if you haven't done so yet.

I just am having a hard time thinking a burglar would steal the family dog and leave other valuables behind.  Not to mention lugging around a big GSD at your side would be IMO more of an inconvenience but who knows.  You must be very uneasy knowing someone was in your home....I think Two Moons said it best; it's like you were violated.  That will stay with you for a long time.

I think the Capt makes a good point. If they try to pass the litter off as coming from an inferior female that would make sense. And I'm not sure how many people who don't show or compete at high levels would DNA test? Maybe these people have a dog who can't have pups anymore or is too old. They could afford to sell the pups to a lower price market because wouldn't have overhead and that price bracket may not be likey to DNA test.

Anyway around it, it is a devastating chain of events.

This might be far fetched, but if you have an idea of when she is due for her next heat, I would look for puppies being sold and maybe visit the owners and swab one of the pups for a DNA check. Incase it was someone in your local area. i would also put out flyers for reward, not stating she was stolen, incase of a teen wanting a dog. Parents may have problems turning in thier kids on theft. We had a young female stolen out of a locked car and got her back, from flyers posted with reward. My Mom hired a lot of high school kids and papered every pole in the surrounding cities I know the nightmare you are in and my thoughts are with you.

I truly wish you the best in trying to recover your dog.  Unfortunately, there are some sick, disgusting people in the world.  As far as falsifying papers....it  is very easily done.

I had to learn my lesson the hard way when 3 of my dogs were stolen in Columbus Ohio.  and the sick and sad thing there is I KNOW WHO STOLE MY DOGS, have the paperwork to prove it...and still can't give them back.  However, I will go to my grave trying!

Because of this lesson, I now tat., microchip, DNA every single one of my dogs.  I also have several other little surpises and secrets up my sleeve.

It's pretty sad when you have to protect youself and your 4 legged friends from sick, disgusting, con-artist and theives with all this latest type of technology.  Perhaps because of all this, we will weed out all the junk, crossbreeds, back-yard breeders, and get this breed back to what it was meant to be!
