ATARTHS

by ATARTHS on 16 February 2008 - 21:02

One of my newest German imports, a super female with  lots of trophies under her collar!, came from Germany on Thursday , entered the International dogshow here on Satturday , won all there was to be won,i.e. best of female champion class, best of females over all, best of breed,(nocking out the best male wich incidentally belongs to our team), then went on to play with the rest of the breeds and won the 1st group, and finally the best of show out of ten groups of ten different breeds each and a participation of 1363 dogs. She put our breed at the top and made us all proud to be involved with the shepherds. And on Sunday when my wife and I came back from work late afternoon, discovered that she was snatched from our house living room after they broke entry by the rear verandah. This female was the mother of several top dogs in Germany and we bought her to refresh our lines and more importantly to in-breed with one of our studs on  VA Melinda Vom Team Fiemereck. Police was involved the T.V. channels,Radio Stations and a reward of 2000 Euro issued. Also private detectives were hire without any result. So I am still wondering who would have the nerve to carry out such a crime and do what with a dog with no papers? Is it possible for someone to make an S.V. pink pedigree somewhere? As all of her papers are still with me I cannot think of how this six year old female could be of use to anybody.

So if anyone knows if pedigrees can be reproduced illegally somewhere please give me details . Needless to say that as from that day onwards our lives have been miserable and always thinking of her.

I am sorry to hear that , did you give the Police ,TV etc her Tatoo # German Imports are usually Tatooed in their right ear and the # is on her paperwork.

The only way I would think anyone can reproduce a pedigree if hers is either in here on The DB or if you have them puplicised anywhere else ,

So try not to make her Name and Kennelname puplic or her pedigree.  I don't think any one could make SV Pinkpapers and look real because the papers have stamps and is in German.

But then you never know there are some real smart crooks outthere.

Again I am sorry that happend I really hope someone will locate her and bring her back to you.

She has tattoo in her right ear starts from PD , she was stolen 3 months ago still missing after a lot of searching, and the S.V. is informed.

You need to contact both the SV and the VDH of the theft of the dog and make sure that no duplicate paper is to be issued by either club.
akc@schaeferhunde.de - Sabine at the SV, she speaks English.
www.vdh.de - look there for contact info, eMail or fax. Make sure you get a receipt of delivery.

Your national kennel club should also be notified about the theft of the dog. Include the Tattoo Nr.  If you already had paperwork transfered to your local club make sure no duplicates can be issued by that local club.

She may be taken out of the country. Notify airlines, ferries, etc.

Does your kennel club require DNA for pups? The female could have pups under a different dogs name if the thief is only interested in offspring and then claiming it as pups of dog X. If there are no DNA requirements in your country, the paperwork may not really mean much, unfortunately. Who ever took her will not show her, but may well use her for breeding if there are loopholes that will allow that.

It sounds more like the deed of someone who has an ill will towards you. Lots of sick-minded people out there who cannot bear the success or good intentions of others. Very unfortunate.

I hope you find her, safe and sound.

I am sorry to hear about your loss.    I have been the victim of a burglary and I understand what it feels like.  They caught my burglar and it was someone I knew, also he got very little in the way of punishment for this crime.  I hope you have better luck.

Maybe someone wants to breed your dog and use another dogs identity, DNA would be a valuable tool if you ever find a suspect.

Maybe someone without GSD knowledge just stole it to own as a personal pet.  Its so hard to know what could be a motive.

The dog could never be sold or shown because of the tattoo.

Anyway I do hope the dogs well cared for and that you get it back.

Post the tattoo number with an e-mail address or some contact information just in case.

ATARTHS,so sorry to hear this happened. Is there anyway that the dog could of got out AFTER the break in occured? If not, then i would put my money on someone very jelous of the quality dog you have.Someone more than likely that you have intimidated with your wins.Yes this could be because just before i bought my last male, the guy who owned him before me was winning all the shows and when he left the truck out of view at the Nationals he came back to find the dog had been stabbed in the face under the eye.Luckly due to the type of crate he had they were not able to do real damage. We have an idea who the scum is but cant prove it.Its bad enough having to deal with some of  the unethical, scum breeders out there but now this is too much.I sincerly hope all turns out well for you AND FOR THE POOR DOG.Good luck and please keep us informed of any news.
