Just thought I'd add to the pie recipe I suggested. I made my own change, and the raisins are soaking nicely in some Barbados Rum as we speak! That ought to do it, for my own special flair.

I have eaten so much of my bean casserole, rich dishes, pies, in the last week that my dog is threatening to move out of the house. Can't say as I blame him. LOL

I copied your GBC recipe, sounds yummy actually, can't wait to make it with my fresh home grown beans this summer, and I will make it with Christmas dinner. Thanks!

The GBC is VERY rich. I always make extra bean/bacon/cheese and freeze it for later so all I have to do is add the sauce and pop it in the oven for half an hour. All we have left from TG is the turkey carcass, which I am stripping and simmering with vegies for stock/ reduction today, and a handful of dressing.

I can't believe everyone who tried it really liked the "new and different" apple pie recipe I dreamed up this time. I sauteed the apples, pecans and raisens in butter, with sliced fresh garlic before filling the pie shell. Added a little Wondra flour to hold it together, but no sugar. Nobody figured out my "secret" ingredient. LOL If they had they probably wouldn't even have tried the pie. I'm never going to tell.

Shelley,

I must tell you-- I  have always hated green bean cassorole.  My mother ruined a LOT of things with that damn Campbell's soup.  My sister and I used to remove the labels from all cans to prevent her from making those awful recipes.

BUT--- YOUR green bean casserole recipe sounds WAAAAY YUMMMMY!!   I am going to have to try making it.  Thanks!!  You may have saved a lot of people from that horrible Campbell soup mess!!

What's soo bad with Campbells??? The spicy soup will get the pipes cleaned out! haha
