Louise, he is downright gorgeous! but I could be a tad biased, as he is my Gipsi's uncle.

Kitty Kat:

Are you happy with the breeder?

Are you happy with the pedigree of the pup?

Do not bother with those who wish to put your dog or anyone's dog down for that matter.

There is only one logical reason for people to constantly attack others; jealousy!

If you are comfortable and happy then go for it and best of luck to you and your pup.

My only advice is be sure to do your homework and research.

I believe you are intelligent enough to make up your own mind.

Okay, I'm not sure why you felt the need to jump in with wild accusations of people being jealous, but perhaps you should go back & re-read the posts.  This is a discussion on breeding, no need to get defensive is there?  Every single person who has posted wants only the best for the op otherwise why would we bother saying anything at all?

Lilmeg, I looked at your website after you posted to this thread. It looks like you have bred 2 litters sired by a dog that is not registered. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant when you said his breeder never issued you the CKC registration papers as promised. He's a nice looking dog BTW. Also, I'd strongly suggest  you send  your bitch's hip xrays to OFA or a rodiologist even though you don't believe in certifying hips. Your males hips look very good to me, but I'd be concerned about the females. If you want to be sure, you should have them evaluated by an expeienced canine radiologist. She is also a very nice looking dog.

Lilmeg,  As long as this is a discussion about breeding, I was wondering if you could expound on your theories regarding hip dysplasia.  You make several claims that I have not heard before.  You mention you don't see any need to xray a breeding dog because if they can jump around their hips are fine?  You state Malinois breeders don't Xray their dogs (that's news to the Malinois people).  You also said that you know of 100s of dogs that were diagnosed with hip problems but in actuality they have spinal issues not hip?  You state that in 9 years you have never seen a case of hip dysplasia?    I am talking about the claims you make on the following page on your website:

http://pic5.piczo.com/k9superiortraining/?g=44177690

You appear to have knowledge about hip dysplasia no one else has.  What is the scientific data that supports your theories?

by Blitzen on 07 September 2007 - 23:09

Sueincc, have you not heard of the Hump and Jump HD Detection Scheme? If the dog can hump and then jump from the roof of the dog house, it must be OK to breed.

Blitz:  Oh I'm learning all kinds of new and amazing stuff.  For instance, did you know that originally GSD's hind legs were straight, but now they are horribly bent?  Did you know that the only strain of true GSD is located in England?  Many amazing facts allright!

Not to be offencive but can you read?

Notice where all of the information has been taken from.  Even the link has been provided on the very page you link too.

The information comes from OlderHill Shepherds.....I have one litter sold and well on its way!

One bitch bred this week and one to be bred later this month.

If you need scientific evidence the link provided on my website offers tons.

Sue, I had no idea that GSD's once had straight legs. What do  you suppose happened to make them bent? Could it have been caused by all that jumping  and humping to test their hips?  And the only true GSD "strain" is in England, eh? Also good to know, thanks. Did you hear that, Herr Captain?

Now I'm going to go read that website again so I learn all about this breed by reading the tons of scientific information posted there. Obviously no one here knows what they are talking about. When I think of all the years I wasted learning about useless things like HD when I could have been breeding dogs and making money, I really get disgusted with myself.
