A few years ago we bought some land in Westcliffe and plan to retire there in the next 5 years......right now we camp out every chance we get..

They neighbors are great, both 2 and 4 legged....air is fresh, and lots high places and wide open spaces to enjoy.

Now we wait........for what seems like forever.......

Last time I camped in the wilderness (1982)  I was up all night 4 nights in a row, waiting for the bears to come eat me. I finally feigned a sprained ankle so the Park Ranger in the power boat down on the lake would stop and transport me back to the parking lot at the trail head. If God wanted me to carry my groceries on my back and sleep on a narrow, miserably uncomfortable little foam pad, in a tent, he wouldn't have made RV's with satellite TV and indoor plumbing.

We have power, hot and cold running water, shower potty, kitchen sink, queen size blow up mattersses, picnic shelter.....
rustic - yes, without the basics - no.

The dogs LOVE IT

Its ok,
I would only use you to get into the mountains anyway, then you'd probably only see signs from time to time.
Maybe a fleeting glimpse from a distance.
I might come calling once in a while.....:)
Like a thief in the night...lol

One day you'd come across some old bones near a stream.

The wifes quite happy to remain behind and stay in our home, she's not that out doorsy.
Roots are too deep.

Me, I have no roots, and there's always post cards...lol

I almost stayed once, if I ever make it back I won't be leaving.

Nice place to end up.

Moons.
