I just love DDR dogs.

The only problem is, you have to FEED them or they DIE.

Many of them are big hunky dogs and they eat a lot.  That costs a lot of money.

Pharaoh loves to eat.  He just burns up the calories.

So, a very important thing is to just have as many dogs as you can afford to feed and take to the vet when necessary.

 Wait, Michele. Could you repeat that in simpler terms? I'm confused. I mean, do you have to feed them a LOT? Like every week? I heard if you don't feed them they don't mess in their cages. Is that true? 

 I know I just added to the derailment, and I'm sorry, but I think the question was answered to the best of everyone's knowledge/ability, GSDguy. The problem, IMO, is with the trend for them (and yes, I do think they're trendy- several years ago hardly anyone mainstream had even heard of them and now they're everywhere) you're going to attract breeders who don't really KNOW what the dog is, because they don't do anything but breed them. What they typically want is a middle of the road family dog who looks pretty, so that's what you get the most of, thus weakening their reputation as working dogs. JMO.

I am not sure there are any left any where. Not really, when you look at the DDR lined dogs available today they are mostly Don , line bred , he have great hips and size but was never know for his fighting ability. Lord never produced great but when he was in 2nd and 3rd generation you got very good dogs. The DDR dogs that where imported in the early 90's after the wall came down do not resemble so much the so called DDR lines today. People use the slow to mature line to make up for their lack of drive today. (Not all but most). There where many young titled dogs in the old DDR as where in Germany, so why now are they just slow to mature???????? 
There may be a good DDR stud that can produce out there somewhere but I bet he is in Chez, Poland, S. Africa, Baldur sold many good dogs to S. Africa..... or somewhere well hid. Wolfgang Sietle who was the master of getting great DDR dogs in the late 80's and early 90's has said many times that once the wall came down they all left and the true , real old (very real) working dogs of the DDR are not to be had anywhere anymore. Maybe in Chez you can find a dog with a good pedigree but it seems when crossed with the Chez lines you get those huge ears. Look at the pics of the Old DDR dogs in the 70's and 80's and early 90's they had very small tight ears and huge heads...Damn I loved that look lOL

I never thanked you properly for finding me that dog that jumps fences to get away when the neighbor is mowing their lawn or it gets around Fourth of July. That was a two thousand dollar rip off. You know very well about rip offs, having (allegedly) kept two pups and sold one from three pups from a litter and given the nothing to the man who provided the semen in hopes of getting a puppy. You only admitted to getting two pups, right? LOL.. It's a small world, John! The problem is that AKC allegedly also told this guy also that there were three pups. LOL

By the way.. What does "Schaferhunden" mean? a Hündin is a bitch, and multiple dogs is Hunde. I guess you didn't bother to check that out.

You know.. When someone OFFERS to sell a top training prospect (because that is what it is best suited for and WANTS to do) and pass it over for breeding because of a missing premolar, which they freely admit and disclose, THAT is not dishonest. Getting people to sign off their AKC papers so you can control the deal is to me highly questionable. You have no business telling anyone what is honest, in my opinion.
