So, IOW, a non-member wishing to individually register a dog must bre prepared to fork out $35 + $85 + $100 for a USA membership. This has never been cheap. Don't forget that obtaining a 4-generation pedigree from the AKC costs an additional amount. If the dog is over 12 months old, it is more expeditious to apply for an SV "a" stamp for hips/elbows at the same time as registering the dog. Applying for the "a" stamp is an additional charge. Before hand, there is the expense to have a veterinarian x-ray the dog's hips/elbows. Some people people opt not to apply for an "a" stamp because, by the time this is received, the dog is often old enough for OFA certification.  You may as well apply for a score book at the same time you register your dog.. The dog's dental notation is recorded in the scorebook.

In the past, I have done all of the above as well as OFA certification. By the time we have jumped through all these hoops, the average SL dog is well along being schutzhund trained/titled and has it's AD and BH and is almost ready for its first breed survey (read: even more money).

Nia

I refer you to Tim Burke the NBW.  It all has to do with a WUSV ruling that we must follow for our Sieger Show.
This was in effect for the 2010 Sieger show.

Do you have to cart your own chip reader to the show? My dogs are both tattoo'd and microchipped (read: more money spent to have them chipped). Most chip readers will not read the universal microchips done in Germany. In Germany, the law requires that all dogs entering the country be microchipped.

My point is not the money. My point is, I cannot be a UScA member, because, as a WDA member I am no longer welcome in the organization. I would, however, still like to support the SV ring in this country. I would certainly love to be a member of the organization again, and should the JA ever be repealed I will send in my dues the next day.

So, if dogs over 12 months of age must be individually UScA registered, and according to Mystere's quote from the UScA website, you must be a UScA member to apply for said registration, is it then correct that a non-member residing in America such as myself cannot enter dog over 12 months, even with the FCI memberhip/additional fee?

I guess I did not understand your post, Mary, when you said "in conjunction" with the SS. What exactly does that mean? Does it mean the quote from the UScA site is incorrect?

Second, if my dog has obtained her title under an SV judge in a WDA scorebook, will that be recognized for entry into the working class, if UScA does not recognize WDA scorebooks?

Exhibiting my dog for the enjoyment of the sport, the people, and the dogs should not be so darn complicated. Politics stink.

Kelly,

You need to get a USA scorebook and have the SV judge at WDA trials enter his titles in the USA scorebook. This is what I did with my dogs. I don't believe that one has to be a USA member to have scorebook (issued as a "mixed breed"). However, USA has no choice but to  recognize a score from any SV judge even if recorded in a WDA scorebook.

I can't be a member of USA either.

Finally, an explanation for the posts. :-(

I have never had to wait more than three months for the. A stamp after sending everything into USCA. An "audit " a few years ago revealed that a lot of the lag time some experience is due to their incomplete paper work.

Isn't Mary a WDA member?
