I keep checking.

I tend to agree with you. No recent sightings? Surely someone has this dog and is hoping we'll all go away and they can pretend it belongs to them.
I checked the local shelter today but no Stryker. Did find a 3 yr old B/T male GSD in rabies quarantine and his info indicated he was a return. Thin, in need of brushing. He didn't bark, just stood there looking me in the eye. I'm distraught that I am not in a position to do anything about him. If there is a GSD rescue in the Wichita area, please check on Fritz and if possible someone come get him. It is a high kill shelter and I'd hate to see him go. Those eyes are going to haunt me forever.

Then hit all the mailmen and the kids and the veterinarians.
In addition to handouts, go to the post offices, the vets, and the elementary schools and ask to post your flyers on their bulletin boards - public and in their lunchrooms. For the schools you can kindly ask if it can be read on the announcements. making sure to mention a reward. Any child who thinks they have information is to give it to the principal's office and they can contact you - work for them I know but this way you're not asking the children to contact a stranger.
Or give them a stack of flyers and they can give one to the child who comes forward to take home to the parents (provided they're not the ones with the dog!).
Church newsletters might also work.
All this in addition to the large live traps with some really succulent food. Poor guy's probably hungry if he's not in someone's yard.

Has a reward been offered and made public? Since I am in Michigan and unable to come there I would however donate to raising the amount. I really believe this dog is at someones home waiting on a dollar amount to turn the dog in. Money talks especially nowadays. Someone will turn them in if they know the reward is out there. Just a thought
