I would love to see a link as well. There was a video posted on degenerativemyelopathylist yesterday. It was of a wolf of wolf hybrid with DM. I wonder howmany wolves Dr. Coates has tested? GSD's are more closer related to wolves than most other breeds seeings that wolves were used around 1890 to create breed. It is sad video and my carrier shepherd has gone through every stage in video. Well not quite the last stage. He still drrags on right side and not with his legs straight back. The video made me cry watching the progress.:( I too would like to see link. I will keep my mouth shut. Just read and absorb. Gwen

Beetree, have you ever seen me post that I am a Dr ? I am not and have never claimed to be, so cut the crap. I guess you will have to lump me into the category of Chrisopher Columbus, Thomas Edison, Galileo and others, who set about to prove misconceptions false and open people's eyes to the truth. I have studied DM since 1997, with an ntensive education provided to me that many in a university cannot get. If you cannot accept that, just move on and please be careful not to sail off the end of the earth in your travels ;) You seemed destined to do exactly that, from what I can see, the way your mind is working lately.

Marjorie,

If you habitually treat these type of questions of mine, with answers as you have just given me, then I can see why you are having difficulty finding funders. Good luck with that.

Beetree,

Why not look at your own actions before criticizing others?

You accuse a person I know who has an ill dog of having no ill dog. Thats just not nice. yes, you posted pics of your ill dog but do you have any idea in this day and age how easy it is to lift a photo off another's site?  Dr C's work was lifted off his site!!!  How easy is it to right click and hit *save*!!! I know you did not do that, but that is in the same category as accusing one of not having an ill dog.  Look to yourself and your own words, first, before pointing the fingers at others, and think how that comes across.( I think someone very well known said something to that effect- it is his intellectual property but there was no internet in those days;) It comes across as cruel and mean spirited, which is a horrid way to be with someone who is drained and stressed watching their ill dog struggle.

Again, BeeTree- when you acted civilly, I acted civilly. When I posted that long explanation in the other thread  I never once acted in a confrontational manner with you. I simply explained the facts. I will get my back up, however,  when people are cruel to others. Its a trait for which I have zero tolerance. Ill dog owners have enough on their plate without insinuations meant to deliberately wound.  People can get frustrated and lash out from frustration, but that is not the same as deliberately looking to inflict pain upon another by making outrageous insinuations. Go back and  look at my explanation. I went out of my way to post in a manner in which you could understand, and never once did I have an attitude in my post. I took time away from my ill dog to help you understand- it was only when you got cruelto an owner of an ill dog that I responded, in kind. If you cannot accept that, so be it. I cannot deal with people who are deliberatly horrid to others.

What is uncivil with anything I asked you? You decry a lack of funding. I ask for credentials, like minded organizations, a working plan. Do you have those?

I do not  have  a 501c3 so I have no ability or legal right to ask for grants. I am just the Founder of the DM Support group, which I founded in 1997 because so little was known about GSDM at that time, and there was next to no info on the net. I am not a grant writer nor do I have the time, even if I were, to write more than a paragraph a time. I am a single voice, just like you. Grant writing is a specialty. Dr C lost his entire staff when he ran out of funding. The AKC is about the only organization with bucks, these days, for animal research, and those bucks are automatically parsed to Dr Coates, as they have already invested heavily in her, promoting her test. There is a terrible economic recession in this country and funding is next to impossible to come by. The AKC buddy system sits in peer review on all articles for publication, so, if you aint one of them, you aint ever going to get published. Thems the facts. Theres a hole in the bucket, dear liza, dear liza....

It was uncivil to insinuate that a person was making up that her dog was very ill. Do YOU think that was appropriate behavior, especially when she just had major surgery, herself, and is still struggling to care for her dog? What kind of accusation or insinuation was that??? How could it possibly be taken as anything other than mean spirited? It makes an automatic assumption that the person is a liar. That is inaprropriate behavior and as Taylor Swift would sing,*MEAN*!

I believe that you believe it works that way. The thing is Marjorie, your voice was being heard.

To anybody else, if you know a DM researcher with bonafide credentials, the support of a like minded 501 c 3 organization to support their research, and a well thought out case of support with complete financials, please PM me with this information. I would be very interested to know of such a person or organization.

No picture. Still. Turns out you two are well acquainted. Oh well, to that too. It is called the internet. One can never be too careful. I'm sure most here will understand. I only mentioned my doubts, you added into it all you wanted to, making it personal, which it is not.

It doesn't really matter does it? You are going to continue playing martyr. I just want the correct answer.

Here is my sweet Missie T, on her 11th birthday, march 19, who may or may not exist. Hmmmmm- if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to see it, does it still make a sound? Maybe I dont exist, either, or maybe I am not a realperson. Can you know I am?

not personal??? You question a particular persons's integrity and thats NOT personal???

Martyr? WTF does that mean? What are you implying? That I dont have a DM dog, either? Or that I shouldnt be upset my Dog has DM and is dying, sooner rather than later, IF she exists??? That I shouldnt be upset my dog is ill and no progress is being made in relation to her disease, which is breed specific with research $ pouring into a different disease our breed doesnt get, being lumped in with a disease another breed gets, while our own breed is being hung out to dry?
