Niels, it's very nice to see the show ratings but one big problem is that the program does not calculate the line breeding for the dogs correctly.

You are trying to promote this database based on the fact that information is acurate and has been varified yet one of the most important parts of a pedigree, the line breeding is not correct. 

I believe this is a very big fault in the program that needs to be corrected. 

I love this site and all that Oli has put into it but it's always nice to have others to compare to.

Andrew, what line breeding are you referring to? Vitus? If so, the WinSis-X is correct. You can vertify that yourself very easily. Count how many time Q v Arminius is there in the 4th and 3rd generation. Then the X v Arminius, how many times it is in the 5th and 4th generation. Last, Palme, how many times is Palme in the 5th and 4th generation. You will end up with:

Q v Arminius 4,4-3

X v Arminius 5,5,5-4

Palme v Wildsteiger Land 5,5,5-4

I must say that I think it is in poor taste to advertise another web site, on Oli's web site, especially one that is similar and therefore a "competitor" of this web site.  There are other, more appropriate ways to advertise a web site.  Oli has generously allowed free advertising on this site for many and varied things, but he does sell space (ads) for some things, and I remember not too long ago when most of us were advising him to "sell space", in order to make improvements to this site and keep it running smoother than it previously was.  Now, he has accomplished that and "others", who actually will be competitors to this site, are advertising in the message (Newest Topics) section of this site, and not even using the appropriate  (Newest Ads) section.  Again, I am not stating that it is wrong, just in poor taste.  Buy some ad space here to advertise your new web site, or at the very least, mention it, in context, during a conversation about a "topic", instead of just running an ad on the "message" section of this site.  I have not visited that "other" site and will not, until it is appropriately advertised.

I entered Leri into my database and it shows line breeding on:

Uran v Wildsteiger Land 4-5

Jeck v Noricum 5-4

Dando a Nordrheinland 5-5

Maybe he doesn't have full pedigree for Leri?

I totaly agree. Besides, the database sucks. Not only it is not user friendly, it is inacurrate. I don't want to go into details (as stated above, not fair to Oli to use THIS forum for such a discussion), but any reference to it shall not come from this site.

Oli, keep up the good work, if a membership would be required, there is nothing you should be afraid of.

The winsis program leaves out the line breeding on Xandra and Nufo for my female Gigi Jagenstadt

many other database's have been promoted on this site over the years, so why a problem with Winsis doing the same? We all have choices, and I do not see any reason for anyone to have a problem with a FREE database on GSD so professionally done. Of course there are aspects which could be improved to make it more user friendly, but "Rome was not built in a day" - be patient.

Andrew: sadly you do not understand "accurate line-breeding" otherwise you would know that that given by Winsis is accurate, pedigreedatabase has always 'wrongly' given every dog that is on both sides of the pedigree in 5 generations, WRONGLY INCUDING THE PARENTS OF DOGS IN THE LOWER GENERATIONS. AND SOMETIMES GRANDPARENTS.

A pedigree with 3-3 on a certain dog - should NOT be expressed and 4-4 & 4-4 on its parents or 5-5 & 5-5 etc on its grandparents.
