Respected Friends, Just wanted to clarify, my problem is I'm in India and working line is unknown in this country. What should I do. I'm planning to buy a puppy male. What should I do ?? Should I fly to the breeder's kennel?? and buy the puppy personally. The shipment is 500 Euro I guess I can make a trip to Europe in couple of extra hundreds?? Please advice regards Vikram

Vikram,Are you looking for a working line? If you can fly where ever it is to see it that is always better. Most can not or will not do that. What exactly is it that you are looking to do with this dog?

by Vikram on 04 November 2004 - 15:11

Dear Charlie Ivory, I'm looking for an excellent conformance dog with high prey drives and excellent protection and perfect health. I want to learn the sport of schutzhund and maybe bring in the sport to our country regards Vikram

Vikram, I suggest you contact the person whose name I sent you privately, and buy a young started dog where you can start enjoying him and see what you have!!!!! Not a puppy. No one can guarantee these things in a 8 week old puppy. NO ONE. You take a puppy and it is like rolling the dice. All you are getting is a chance to see if the puppy ends up like what the pedigree indicates you should get If you are going for an 8 week old, I suggest a breeder like Wannaer Hohen, Maineiche, Conneford or Arolser Holz. They are very established breeders who I believe will guarantee - warranty - hips at the very least. I would personally prefer the lines used by the first two kennels, but these are the kennels that come to mind as having a good track record

If what you say is true then this woman is real scum and should ship herself back to the vaterland for good! There is no need to be ripped off by any breeders in the USA when you pay these significant prices. That is why I consider Mittelwest, Bullinger, Kirchenwald kennels worth their weight in gold. And there are many other great and honest breeders, in California, Idaho, most other states, too. Do your homework and you won't get ripped off. You will pay a fair price which may seem somehwat high but these reputable breeders do have high expenses and need to recover their costs for breeding. And don't buy a puppy less than 12 weeks old without hip and elbow Xrays and complete vetting, even if you have to pay for all this. You won't be sorry if you save up your money and take your time.

Dear Vikram, you definately need to try Belgium for working lines! Remember! WUSV Worldchampion 2004 is Ronny van den Berghe (with Eros von der Mohnwiese). What a performance! Winning on the highest level with a 5 point gap. He and his teammates did an excellent job in Eindhoven, proving Belgian strenghts. I guess everyone here can agree to that. Please note Ronny has won this event before (with Tom van 't Leefdalhof). Make a trip to Belgium and visit some of the breeders. Belgian people are honest and trustworthy. Good luck!

Vikram, the contact I sent you is in the same club with Ronny and I believe this is the route to go. I have a puppy here now from Belgium that is fantastic, and 3 of teh pups from teh same litter are in that club in Belgium. The pup I have was the "pick" by Ronny for his friend but the freind wanted a black instead of a sable. He missed a good one! I know that there are 2 or 3 litters upcoming from a son of Orry v h Antverpa. He won the WUSV 2x and was sire and grandsire of WUSV winners. The working lines in Belgium are very good.
