I read this on some dogs koer report but I am not sure exactly what this means: Cow hocked, loose ligaments?
Anyone have any ideas? I would to see pictures of these faults if possible.
Best Wishes

I can tell you what I've been told . There is a difference between cow hocked and close. I was told that close is when the hocks are not actually crossing each other at the trot and cow hocked is when they have a sort of "eggbeater" action where one hock overlaps the movement /path f the other at the trot. Also that sometimes it is a fine line between the two especially when the dog is standing naturally. As an aside I have also been told that these two differentiations are given by showline breeders to lessen the impression of over angulation. I didn't really buy that one totally because I've seen much the same in working lines even though it seems less common. JMHO and repeating advice given to me.
I saw pictures somewhere on the net. I'll see if I can find it again.

I heard some where that cow hocked dogs use more energy when running and jumping then a dog that don't have cow hocks IMO i don't really belive because my dog has cow hocks and it don't slow her down any.
