Wow, I always wondered what happened to the grammer nerds from high school. No wonder they don't train, they wouldn't be able to juggle the lead and the dictionary. Maybe now beesinthebelfry and donothing can finally go to the prom.

Useless beyond words.

Allaboutthedawgs,

Yeah, right, because you said so. YAWN.

Don.  I once wrote on here that I hoped to meet you someday, because (back then) you had a great sense of humor and seemed like someone who would be fun to be around.  You might remember me writing (as in Do Write) those words.

Lately (seems like since that crude joke you wrote that you were later sorry for) (and I suspect that incident is the reason for your sourness due to paragraph 4 in your posting), you have turned a little sour.  This was a thread about pet peeves.  You could have easily just wrote a pet peeve or two of yours, and let it go.  It will be over and gone in a day or two.  Or, you could have just "clicked" and left the thread as soon as you realized (if the title didn't make it clear) what the essence of the thread was.

But no.  You and some others, just had to let the rest of us know your thoughts about our postings.

What gives?  Did your favorite dog get run over by a car?  Did someone here mention a word mispelling that you do often and it pissed you off?  Did we use band width that prevented you from posting another thread on a very important subject like "Help!!!, My Dog Just Ate Three Raisins and Four Grapes.  We She Be Okay"?

To all reading this.  Those that hate me (you know who you are), those that like me (you know who you are) and to those that could care less one way or the other (that 90% you mentioned Don).  I will post whatever I like on here.  If you do not want to read it.  Don't.

In my view of this site, it is about dog lovers, not about dog trainers or training only.  It is about every aspect of dogs, from feeding, pooper scoopers, emergency measures when accidents happen, and about the fellowship of dog lovers.  Yes, the fellowship of dog lovers.  That includes any and all aspects of their lives, whether asking if anybody can beat the Saints in football (a thread that was started by the infamous Abhay, and one you and others did not object to), or about seeing a UFO last night over their house.

If I am wrong about the correct and proper use of this site, then I ask, no I plead, with Oli to ban me from this site, to show me and the rest of you, that I am wrong.

If Oli doesn't ban me from this site, then that should be a signal to ya'll that I am correct or at the very least somewhat correct, and ya'll should get the corn cobs out of your dark places and get a freakin life.

This thread was as innocent as it could possibly be, until.... well, you know the rest.

Oh, and I find this quote from you, totally and completely false.  "This is not, on average, a highly educated forum".  I have been with highly educated groups of people, and debated with them in person about carious subjects and in just general conversation.  I actually taught classes at Cleveland State University in Police Science and Search and Seizure.  There is even one who Id's theirself as an English Teacher who mispells words often, on this thread.   I do not believe education comes from schooling (as I know many that are highly educated but I can clean their clocks in most subjects and I got a GED).  But rather, I believe that education comes from reading mostly, and life experiences secondly.  I find the members who post on this board highly intelligent, and it hurts me to say this, but even the trolls and Pod People that I despise are quite intelligent, just misguided.  To be honest about it, I kind of thought the same as you apparently do, that if I participated in a chat board of mainly "dog people", that I would not enjoy it, but would find it not educated enough to keep me entertained.  But I actually found out that most here (some might argue ALL :), are at least as intelligent as I am and  many are much more intelligent

Just look at the thread I initiated recently about genetics c/w pigeons and dogs.  Ferrum and some others had my head spinning in circles with their knowledge.   Not the first time something like that has happened.  Even my arch enemy Abhay was extremely intelligent.  She may not like my writing this (forgive me please) but Yellow Rose is probably one of the worst at grammer on this site (I suspect because she is always in a hurry) yet, she is clearly highly intelligent and knows her stuff.  No one here was making fun of her, nor making fun of anyone else.  This was a simple little thread, just to kill time and have a smile or two.  What was the harm?

Could have written. Not could have wrote.

Do write

Now I think you are taking this too seriously.  I agree with you on some aspects.  I know many people that have great accomplishments in the math and science world that can't spell cat or dog.

You quoted me, so I will ask you a question.  What do you consider, highly educated?  The reason I ask, is because I said, "on average".

You also said that I should have just posted my pet peeve or two.  Well I thought I did.  I don't like people correcting others on their grammer and spelling.  Don't you remember your mother explaining why you don't correct people.  I believe it to be rude.

by Do right and fear no one on 16 January 2008 - 17:01

Don.  I do not wish to get into a pissing contest or any other type of contest with you.  I actually enjoy your posts and as much as I know you (which is admittedly very little) I like you.

I will answer your questions though.

I consider "highly educated" as someone who has a college degree.  Many things in life are relative, but that is a general rule of thumb for me.  I might ask what you consider "average", but I won't, so don't bother to answer that.

When you posted, you did not word your posting as being a statement of a pet peeve.  You may now try to pretend that you meant it that way, but that dog won't hunt (see, just about anything can be worked back to dogs to satisfy those "site purists" out there).

As to the "usual suspects" (the Pod People).  I see that they could not keep their vows, just like they have accussed me of in the past, to ignore me as I have tried to ignore them.  I see they also agreed with your postings about NOT correcting spelling and grammer errors by others, yet felt compelled to do exactly that when it pertained to me.  Talk about hipocrites.

What the heck are you people doing on this thread if you find it unworthy, stupid and not worth beans?  Is it because you follow me or some others who posted here around, with your personal vendettas?  Is it just stuck in your dark space that you were made to look like bad on previous threads and you just can't get over it?

Move on Pod People.  Do not refer to me.  Do not converse with me.  Do not correct me.  Do not let me be a part of your life, and I will do the same.  Continue, and I will assume that you just like being spanked, and I will continue to do so.   Contrary to the statement above concerning what my mother may or may not have taught me, I was raised by my grandmother, not my mother. and my grandmother (God rest her soul) taught me "when you are in a hole, quit digging".  Sound advise don't ya think.

Don.  I mean none of that to you.  I do not have any problems with you.  Just get over the feeling that just because you made one not well thought out joke, that you have to change and get all serious and stuffy.  I and many others on this site really enjoyed your former self, but you have "changed".  Move on and be yourself.  Mistakes happen.

Oh, by the way Don.  If'en ya wants to keep referrin to me as "Do Write", I wills.

I don't refer to you by a mis-labeled name and I do not know why you do with my name.  If you want to shorten it, Do Right or DR&FNO would make more sense, unless you are trying to get my dander up.  If that is the case, okay.  I am at least "average" on the intelligence scale, and can play.

I'm done on this thread, because we bickerers have hijacked anothers thread again and I am trying to refrain from that, but if ANY of you feel the need to "keep it up", just PM me and I will respond in kind.  I love competition of any sort.
