VERY NICE, MR.-O!

How about the 1 that never fails in every board, on every thread:

"DefinAtely".

GGGrrrrrrrrr.

The root is "finite" - as in, it's a very small target of tight borders.  See mathematics.  1 never says "finAte".

So the word in question is "definItely".  It is DEFINITELY not "definate".

Oh yes, yellow, good to point out on this site:

Why can't people ever spell SHEPHERD as it should be?

They are sheep-herders, that should give a clue how such word should be spelled!

But on other sites we get "SHEPARD" (my favorite), "sheppard", "shephard", "sheperd".  Never mind in the newspapers, from the BYBs selling the pups.

Bob-O, (and Don C. ....maybe )

Have you ever heard of Eubonics?

jfletcher18:

re: your number 6:

It never would have worked between us: eye luv the saund of criketz in da sumer.

the Ol' Line Rebel:

Alas and alack, but can it be true, a kindred soul? Am I not alone to be burdened with a simple spelling twitch, who else knew the depths of which, would stoke such passions in the bosom of men? I expect not an answer, thus, as it would be to thine peril, true, a drop in popularity would thou suffer such, if you so much as stopped to dither much with such a wanton, yet indeed,  bona fide, pedigreed bitch. as me.

This word drives me crazy,   "oncest"  or even worse,  againit, as in lean that up againit instead of against it.

Change that first spelling to ONEST, as in "ONEST in a while we do that".

I agree with Don.

And I think there are much more harmful things floating around on this board than bad grammar, from slander to dangerously bad training advice.

Are you all that bored?  Go take your dog out to play or something.

Beetree-excellent prose. I cannot say that I have ever heard of Eubonics, but unfortunately I am too familiar with Denglish.

Regards,

Bob-O
