What is the difference please
Tragen Sie Tal
Ertragen Tal
Which means Bear Valley, but I cannot find this in Germany,or is there such a place. I have a friend who is going and would like to see this from his grandparents letters.
Thanks for any help...

I think the words you are using are NOT places in Germany.
Tragen is a verb that can mean to support, carry or wear among other meanings. Sie is a pronoun.
Ertragen is also a verb meaning to bear, endure or stand, among others.
The word TAL means Valley
Send me the entire German text and I will try to correctly translate it.

You are correct hodie these are just words just like you said. I have never heard of Wear Valley or Endure Valley, and I was Born and raised in Germany.

Bear Valley could be a local name for a place versus an official name. A nick name, something only the locals would know. Just a thought. The context of the letter would be helpful.

There is a French village named Bärenthal (Bear Valley) in Lorraine. There also is a German village named Bärenthal near Feldberg in the Black Forest. If you go to maps.google.com and input 'Baerenthal, Germany' or 'Baerenthal, France' you can see their map locations.
