Can a puppy born in UK (from an imported dam & sire) have pink papers?

Absolutely not, they would have to be born in Germany and go through the SV registration, including tattoo and breed warden checks to have pink papers.

Has your puppy got an EKC registration certificate?

So a puppy MUST be born in Germany to be registered with the SV?

No he doesn't have to be born in Germany to have pink papers.  I know that if you have a dog born here in the states and you have it registered with the SV through the United Schuutzhund club of America (USA) you will get pink papers. I believe the call it an adendum. As a matter of fact I'm looking at the  pink pedigree of my Basko von der Lutter son that 's laying on my desk. He was bred by Jim Hill and born in PA.

It may be different in the USA but in the UK it cannot have German pink papers unless born in Germany and fulfills all the requirements. If you have a puppy in the UK with German Pink papers under 10 months old, then I would suggest it has not been through the UK petpassport scheme.
