Looks like a judo competition and the dog has perfected the perfect hold/throw. I also realy like the first comment.

Thanks for this powerful, amazing picture of a true champion! I saw a documentary a few weeks ago that showed a pit bull, a GSD, and a Mastiff doing bite work on a "helper". The pit bull hit the target and shook his body violently to bring the helper down. No "locked jaws" as the uninformed admirers of this breed would have you believe. It was ALL in the body. That's how they bring bulls down as well. The Mastiff loped toward the helper and just went up on his hind legs and knocked him down with his front legs and body mass. Then the GSD went next. It took off like it was shot out of a cannon. As it built up speed its focus on the target never waivered one iota. When it hit the helper it went through him, not at him. The GSD leapt at its intended target, clamped down visciously, and its momentum continued PAST the helper, taking the large man down like a sack of laundry. The poor guy looked like he had been sacked by the New York Giants defensive line! I thought he suffered a concussion as I watched his head bounce like a grape off of the turf! I was truly impressed by what a highly trained GSD with a single minded purpose could accomplish. There simply is nothing else like it within its species.

This boy was owned and train by Steve Gregalunas. I have the picture right before this one...it's great and Yes that is Chris Carr.  Gus came down the field like a freight train!! I have two of his daughters, one being just like him!! Gus is now retired and living the couch potato life.

Chris Carr was presented the Freight Train Award  for the perforance of  Terry Macias ' Elk vom Nordenstamm, which took him off his feet at the  2004 German Shepherd National Championship....  A crowd pleaser in the protection phase of the competition...

Correction the helper in this picture was Glenn.......I can't think of his last name, anyone? It was at the 2003 DVG Nationals in Boston.
