I have a friend in the U.K. and he is looking to buy a GSD puppy, but not from Spain or Germany, etc., because of the existing problems. If anyone could give me addesses and e-mails of good and serious breeders in the U.K., I would be very grateful!!!

whatever you do do not go near bygoly kennels and one ricky byrne, after reading all the complaints on this website you would think he would have been closed down by now

Marion, listen to villa. Good luck with your search. Just our of curiosity. What problems are there in Germany and Spain that are not in the Uk?

Thank you very much all of you, I am very grateful to you!!! I will give this info to this friend. Caroline, are there not any problems "importing" dogs from the continent to the U.K.? Those do not exist, if this friend buys a dog in the U.K., although he is Spanish, he is living there for some time. If these problems would not exist, like quarantine, for example (or don't they have it anymore?) I could most likely offer him a very good puppy in the next future myself or of another friend. Please let me know if these problems mentioned do not exist anylonger, but I do not see the dogs from the U.K. going to shows in Germany and very few siring their females in Germany, for example. And what the shows in the U.K. are concerned, I don't see dogs from the continent, or very few (I believe those have been imported). If I am wrong, please let me know. I would appreciate this very much, too! Thanks again to everyone who tried to orientate me!

marion, I don't know about the showing aspect but there is now a pet passport scheme with which you can travel in Europe with dogs. However, it would not work for importing a puppy as any dog must have had a positive rabies titer for 6 months before entering the UK. So if the dog will live in the UK and your frined wants a puppy, you are right he'd better buy in the UK.

Hi all have a look at our GSD'S at www.nikonisgsd.co.uk. Successful both here in the UK and in Germany all our breeding stock follow the breeding criteria of Germany.
