Just to let everyone know i recieved a phone call from my nana and granddad to say that the whole show has been abandoned due to severe weather.  apparently officials came into the tents shouting for everyone to stop and leave the show grounds,.

not sure if any of the young female classes were judged.

Sam , glad you are all ok , I just had a call from my friends at zakasia GSDs they were due to show their girl but didn't get that far with the closing of the show .They have said some of the main tents are down and that ambulances are on there way ..I really hope no one has been hurt .

Anyone have anymore news ?

Sounded really bad, my husband was there at the Franks Pro Gold tent, he said they were trying to keep the best in show tent grounded with tractors! Tents were actually colapsing on top of people. There was one really big tent that they were trying to evacuate as it was lifting and people kept trying to get into it...stupid or what. Ambulances & Firebrigade were called...dont know if it anyone was hurt though...but it was bad

just arrived home... scary day !   What ever is happening to our Summer !!   I think there were casualties, as lots of ambulances and fire-engines arrived at the ground as we were all trying to get out.  Must say, every one behaved really well, no panics, and apparently a large marque went down, complete with one of the girders I was told.  I was also told that a caravan had gone over.

It was all change in the GSD ring. First we were where we should be, having our heads blown away, then emergency tannoy messages sent us all scurrying for the Wet Weather Tent and everyone out of the middle of the showground.  Conditions worsened, and when I got back from the car, every one had dissappeared with GSD`s to the bottom of the field to try another safer wet weather tent..... then as I was going down to them, I had a message to stay where I was as everyone was coming back to do a makeshift ring somewhere safer... behind the ladies  (Questionable !!)

So the judging continued for a while, and Mascani Giselle won her puppy class and Mascani Odessa won Junior and Etchica Piper was 2nd in S.Y. before the bitch classes were abandoned and everyone was asked to leave the grounds immediately.  I am sorry that I dont have full records of other wins, but it was absolute chaos and with dog cages unable to stand without a dog in them, there wasa no chance for the judging slips - they had no boards left to put them on !  the steward did a great job of careering around the ring trying to get all the flying debris during the classes, which gave the dogs a new reason to move.

This is light-hearted, but I really hope that no-one was badly injured, it was also a bad journey home, with gale force winds.  Nikki Farley brought an Australian visitor with her.... bet she writes home tonight !  Hope everyone had a safe journey and hope no bad casualties, and great congratulations to the committee of Blackpool Ch Show as they did a sterling job under impossible conditions, and all the exhibitors, who took everything in their stride, and contained the panic that I am sure we all felt at times.
