I am interested in hearing from those who know about showline sires that produce good working dogs.  I have done a search on the PDB, and don't see that directly addressed anywhere, though lots of show vs. working lines disputes.  I breed working line dogs, but I believe that there are many showlines dogs who can work...I've seen a few.  Lets keep this one simple, okay?  Just showline sires that produce good working dogs.  My 12 year old has expressed an interest in aquiring a red and black bitch for Schutzhund training in the near future, I want to know what I should be looking at.  Veronica

I think you should check with Tracy Bullinger. I beleive that her record of accomplishments speaks for itself. She is very fair priced and there is no hassle what so ever on getting your registration. Her dogs are beautiful, and come fully guaranteed.

Veronica -  Are you looking for Show sires who have produced "Working" Dogs such as Police/SAR, etc or "Working" Sport Dogs? I think there is quite a difference..........................

Tracy always has nice working show dogs. Ronaldo Zellergrund is re-producing his excellent drives for the work as well. I have a Keven male and a Ronaldo female puppy who show me as much or more than any working dogs/pups I've ever had.

I have one show-line female I added to my "working dog" program a couple years ago.  I did this because she has the temperament and drives to work.  Problem is, finding stud dogs that can help her produce puppies with the drives, temperament and nerves to work (and work well).  I have been very pleased with the offspring of this female, when bred to V-Geronimo v Olympus Schh3,Kkl-1 and VA Leido v Kuckucksland Schh3,KKl-1.  In fact I have a 19 month old son of my female and Geronimo who is working AWESOME - as Shelly said - he  has all the drives, temperament and "total package" that I hope to see in working line pups.

Good luck and I hope you don't have to depend soley on show ratings. As we've seen on the videos from this year's US Sieger, not all Va dogs are created equally inspite of all the bragging, shameless promoting,  and bravado from their owners, breeders and trainers.  And as we should also have learned, those who are directly associated with the dogs that did the poor bitework are the same ones whose signatures are missing from the petition to follow the rules next time.  Why is that?

If I were  you,  I'd look to see who acutally did sign that petition; if their name isn't there, I'd sure not be putting much stock in their advice.
