Me, too, Charlie, it seems to be a lot more prevalent in GSD's than any other breed I know of. Way too much money at stake I think and that attracts the scumbags. I still think the good brokers/importers should organize and help put a stop to this simply by offering a listing of members who have proven themselves to be ethical and honest. It could be done.

People intent on screwing people are going to find a way to do it,does not matter what the item is they are selling

by Charlie Ivory on 13 December 2004 - 18:12

I really comes down to his word against the seller.Without a contract, the guy can pretty muce say, yeah,I cashed the $1500 money order/bank check,it was for a loan from a year ago.It never really happend, prove it.

That's what they count on Charlie, people like you and me chalking it off to being "just one of those things". We enable them to continue status quo. Not saying that's not the common sense approach, why throw good money after bad, but my hope is that one of these days they are going to screw the wrong person and aren't going to wiggle out of it so easily. In the meantime, people on this list can make life just a miserable for them as they possibly can but must stay within the bourdary of the law.

The best way for a potential buyer to buy a dog is to find a couple of boards such as this one and say, hey,I'm looking to buy a dog,has anyone heard of this guy or this kennel.........it is not fail proof but I have seen people do it............People that have been treated good, got a good dog.is happy with the entire transaction love to tell about ir.The same holds true for the most part of people that have been screwed on they get past the part of being embrassed.

Thanks for the comments. Charlie, I did have a contrast and he e-mailed me with a receipt for the money and stated it was for the dog. He did the same for a man in PA. He even went as far as booking the flight and after received the money called and canceled for the man in PA. I have mountain of paper concerning all his e-mails, phone calls which all were confirmed by e-mail. I just hope that he does not find another dreamer. NOW I AM LOOKING AGAIN. {6-12 month puppy} THANKS TO ALL

Bobby,Do you have my number still?

Is there a website which publishes the names and kennel names/websites of breeders/trainers convicted of fraud? There should be. I also have been very taken by a breeder. Since I am indeed obtaining an attorney even now to sue her or have her charged with fraud, I cannot yet give the name of this person that resides in Indiana. I must ask my lawyer concerning my liablities in the case of publishing the name and the action. However, it is not a waste to go after these people, we need to do what we can to elimate these cruel unscrupulous people that tarnish the image of our sport and breed. I invite others to join me, as I can well afford the retainer.

Charlie You are right is not easy to sue someone, but if they get cases together it may deter this indivadual. At least it is not like overseas. $1500 you can sue in civil court. If he has all the documentation. May cost a plane flight to FL but can sue him for his expense too. Just a thought. These people keep doing it for we all have the attitude of Oh well leason learned. JMO. I would try civil court worth a try.

by Charlie Ivory on 14 December 2004 - 00:12

I with out a doubt agree,by all means nash should follow through best he can.I think what you are refering to is small claims court,it may very from state to state,in Connecticut I think it is anything up to $5000. It is a civil matter and only for the amount due,no intrest, pain$suffering, emotional suffering or any other expenses. So now we're looking at I beleive $1500 in damages, you might get a round trip for $500? I'm not sure. The court rules in your favor ,the defendant cries financial hardship and the court orders him to pay $25 per month.........And he makes a few payments, then stops and we start all over again, fly to Florida......Or you can drop a post on the datsbase every so often, just to remind everyone what a dirtbag this guy/kennel is and that will hurt them much more then him paying back the orininal $1500 a hundred times over...just a thought
