... we can put 700 Billion dollars of lipstick on a pig ... and it's still a damn pig.

BabyEagle4U, you got that right.

Here is a good post on what honest abe would do:

Put on your boots, get out the fire hoses, and take advantage of some cheap stocks that will eventually rise again from these ashes.

Good post! I am doing exactly what you are advocating. Any time the market sells of sharply, I am using the opportunity to pick up quality stocks that represent value. But I would add that I am using funds that I will not need for several years.

There are and will be some great opportunities to pick up stocks relatively cheap.

Buy now may be great advice for those with the cash to do it. However, what about those who are losing their homes and jobs? Where are their perks?

by keepthefaith on 03 October 2008 - 00:10

Blitzen, your point is well made. i do feel for those who are losing their jobs - less so for many of those faced with foreclosure because of their foolishness.

Just as surely as I feel that the Wall Streeters who created this mess should pay the piper, it is difficult for me to feel sympathetic for people who bought more house than they could afford, treated the home equity they had like it was an ATM machine or over-extended themselves using credit cards or other debt instruments. Most foreclosures are not so much the result of job losses but because people bought more house than they could afford or took out mortgages which had teaser rates.

I am opposed to this bail-out because it is giving these Wall Street guys who created this mess a reprieve. I feel that this is unconscionable.

Okay, Don I know personally one of the main investigators for the murrah bombing.  He told me it was a gov't covert op, set up to be a "sting gone bad" just like the first trade tower bombing in NYC done by the "blind cleric" and his fbi crew.  Hoppy Heidelberg was on the grand jury and was driven off and threatened for demanding a complete examination of the evidence.  The gov't confiscated several security videos from surrounding building and wouldn't allow them to be seen by the grand jury, classified them under national security.  Carol howe was an under cover BATF plant in the right ring terrorist group run by andreas strassmeir a bka trained intel officer.  Carol told her superiors about the impending plot and they told her to shut up and ignopred her evidence.  Read what State Rep Charles Key had to say in his report.  The worlds foremost expert on explosive AF general Partin, examined the evidence and said their were bombs planted in the building near all the main supports.  There were bomb sniffing dogs and their handlers present at murrah at 7:30 am sniffing outside for bombs, but were called off.  The whole plot has been solved and is available now for anyone that wants to search out the available evidence.  Several witnesses were murdered.  The main secret service agent investigating the waco mess was told to be at his desk at 9:00 for a call from an undercover informant.  It turns out his desk was right next to a column where one of the bombs was placed in a box from a copy paper delivery that morning (I'll not name the company involved), but he was immediately killed by one of the multiple synchronous blasts.  Rep Gary Condon's girlfriend Shandra Levy was given a job through his connections at the dept of prisons.  She told her friends that she learned of some startling top secret matters about timothy mcveigh.  She was involved in scheduling his so called "execution" and quick cremation.  Soon after that she was "disappeared".

TRUTH FEARS NO INVESTIGATION and takes on all questions.  Anytime a complete investigation is prevented, a whitewash is thrown down as cover.  Anytime a complete investigation by outside authorities is not allowed, the fix is in.

For those who aren't afraid of the truth, here it is.  Boosch's main job was to start a phony war on three fronts and spend money like a drunken sailor to bankrupt our country, to promote torture of prisoners and needless killing, trash the Constitution and BOR via repressive illegal legislation (patriot act etc.) and make US citizens hate and distrust their own gov't so they would be willing to see the USA folded into the north american union (NAU) with a new currency (Amero).

Very little of our current economic problems are due to the sub-prime problem.  People are cash poor because so much of their net income is spent of gasoline and diesel (just talk to any self employed over the road trucker), and so much is spent on increased food prices and general inflation of all things, that they have to drastically cut back on their spending to make ends meet.  When folks spend much less on "luxury" items or items they can go without or putoff, business in general contracts.  Then folks start losing their jobs and unemployment runs out and/or they develop a maojor illness not covered 100% by insurance, then they can't even make their house payments even if they weren't excesssive to start with.  When they lose their house and job, they do not spend much money anymore and this causes further contraction. So what is the main cause of our serious economic problems now??  It is a very weak  job situation caused by many industrial jobs exported and paid to be moved by our state dept, and the general transfer of mfg to other cheaper countries under nafta, gatt, and WTO.  Many top economic experts warned these unconstitutional free trade agreements would ruin our economy forever and constituted a national security risk (we need to be able to manufacture heavy industrial products in case we have a real war).  Now we have lost our industrial base and the economy is collapsing like a house of cards.  And then there is the printing of too much money (note that the fed res. stopped releasing M3 figures because it is outrageously high.  This causes inflation, debasement and deflation of the notes we call dollar bills.  The currenteconomic problems we have are nothing less than the planned destruction of our economic base and money system using terror and fear tactics as the means to sell it to congress and force it upon the people.
