eukanuba sent me a $5 off coupon for their german shepherd formula dog food. is it worth giving a try?

by Vikram on 06 November 2008 - 17:11

if the food has improved based on the ingredients then try it. Don;t buy it just to use your coupon. Not worth 5 bucks risking your dog;s health

cheers

looks like utter crap to me lol

Chicken (>20%), maize, rice, wheat, animal fat, poultry meal, dried beet pulp, chicken digest, dried whole egg, brewer's dried yeast, potassium chloride, sorghum, salt, fish oil, sodium hexametaphosphate, fructooligosaccharides, linseed, DL-methionine, glucosamine hydrochloride, chondroitin sulphate.

never heard of some of those ingredients

Judging from the some of those ingredients, it doesn't sound like something I would feed my dogs. It's difficult when you need to keep your costs down but don't want to buy cheap food. It's better to spend more and have healthy dogs. But not all dogs do well on the most expensive foods, either. I purchased a small bag of very expensive "organic" food. It smelled like fish and none of my dogs would touch it. (So I left it out for the barn cats, and a few of them have not been back since.)

I agree with tigermouse it is crap plain and simple. Throw the coupon away you will be doing your dog a favor.  Take a look at Orijen.

I Have been using it for a couple of months intially I thought it was ok but I am going back to Eagle Pack even more so now I had read the posts about the sodium hexametaphosphate.  I feed mainly raw with biscuits but I did think to give it a go but not really happy with the product and some of my dogs don't like it even some of the "pigs" so that tells me something.  Never had any problems with Eagle Pack.

last I knew Eukanuba was pretty bad. Don;t know if the company has pulled up its socks and improved upon their products

cheers
