I am a Vegas fun , I think he will be the next important turning curve of our breed , I have been studying his blood-line/s trying to figure out whatever it was that brought on such a result. Hence I would like to invite your experts opinion. Is he father or mother typical? or both for that matter . Which of his ancestors do you think is most evident in him? With a bloodline with no common ancestry in between the parents this should be a genetic puzzle hard to solve!!!!!!

It's the dog himself. He has very good angles front and rear, and produces those angles liberally.
They finally put up a Sieger who is well angulated at both ends and they are getting youngsters who are well angulated at both ends and they are all surprised. Jesus!
He is also a beautiful type, very well chiseled head, very good color, does very good bitework, i.e. a very solid citizen. Which is further evidenced in his production.
He is producing the qualities that he has. Breeding is all about doubling up. If she has it, and he has it, some of the little guys will have it. Those bitches that have the qualities that he has, will produce the best total progeny.
The quality of his group of 104 entered just stunned the fancy in attendance at Aachen.
The negatives on the dog is his arched overline which can be seen both walking and gaiting. He has large ears and there were several with softness in carriage in his group. He is also wide coming at you.
Zamp should be mentioned in the same vein. Also a excellent producer of the total package.

Hi Lenny,
that is a pretty good evaluation on Vegas. He certainly is a surprise dog.It puts a doubt into the mind of people who advocate close linebreedings/inbreedings in order to achieve genetic potenital.
What did you think of Furbo? He certainly had a vocal fan club which made all of us cheer for him.
But for me, one of the best progeny groups belonged to (again - just like in Braunschweig) VA-Arko vom Butjenter Land. And I am not just saying that because I am (hopefully) expecting puppies out of him.
Regards, Chris

Vegas is the best proof for the terrible bottleneck (created by the SV) that I have written about in my papers.
Give me a couple of days to translate my latest study, proving the elite GSD's (like Vegas) inherit less than 50% of sound and much needed healthy hips (as checked through their offspring). I will list the different Siegers of the last 20 years in comparison with the offspring of the real GSD's = working dog legends, together with results for the 2007 VA's. The outcome is as astonishing as it is scary. And Veags is one of the worst in the listing I will present to you.
I will show you how only 1 HD1 (a1) pup can be expected per litter of showdogs, and how each litter sired by a workingline stud will give you 2!
Stop focusing on uniform copies and beauty, we need shepherds, not models.

Wow i guess good that my dog was in the litter of 2 lol hahahaaha :) Sorry but I would love to read your research, good too know I am glad that someone try to look at it from a researcher point of view, rather than fanatic of either working or show line GSD. Good job Janite

Jantie
you have to accept my research I've done on working line dogs with super biting and all,, versus conformation and sceletal soundness like roach backs and stuff. You know some day you will have to wake up to the fact that there is only ONE breed standard NOT two.
by snajper69 on 16 November 2008 - 01:11
And you have to wake up and accept that GSD is a working dog first. And a lot of SL are pathetic at that including some of the top VA i see more lower seat V dogs better than your VA it is pathetic. Sorry. If you like the look so much take a pic last longer lol :)

Definitely looks as if you’ve got your work cut out for yourself, Jantie!
I’ve got doubts myself but think I also read somewhere that hip status is only 40 percent offspring transmissible.

I agree with Jantie. The siegers of today are just models and thats about it. ATARTHS the breed standard has been altered by the people who are responsible for creating these models!
