If he was closer to CT, I know someone who would take this dog in a heartbeat. She is looking to adopt a rescue dog. He shepherd recently passed away from old age. She was ready to drive down to FL to take a dog with special needs but could not afford the care.

I know someone who literally chose to be homeless than to give up the dog. But this is a different situation. The other gentleman did not have a choice. What about someone fostering the dog so that he might be able to get him back (if he can leave the nursing home and live independently) or allow him to visit or see how his dog is doing?
