i was recommended this food by a pet shop owner for gsd's.i'd like to know if any members use this food and if what kind of results you've had.i use pro plan performance and have always had great results, but according to the pet shop owner, royal canin is better for gsd's. thanks in advance for ant input.

There is a special 24 formula of Royal Canin that is specailly made for German Shepherds. I personally have had great results with this food. All coats are very shiney, stools solid and have never had a dog turn their nose up at it! I use Royal Canin mixed with Flint River Ranch Trout and Potato.

Dittos bcoats! Great food in every respect. Pro Plan is what I switched from when we went to Royal Canin formula 24.

I have been using RC for several months now and really like the results.I have dogs with nice gleaming coats, firm stools, good wheight, and they really seem to like it-even the picky eaters. And I agree with anton-love Jaguar too!

I am currently feeding this food to 20 GSDs at my facility and feed it to all boarders, unless a client prefers their current food. I have had excellent results. My ONLY complaint is that it is expensive compared to even other premium kibbles. But there is little question in my mind that the food is of very high quality, as are all the varieties they make.

My pup came to me being fed this. I kept her on it for a while until she began developing yeast issues and reactions to the ingredients. I have heard others had the same trouble and I have spoke to many who have had excellent results with it. I very much believe as in all things it depends on the dog for compatability what is good for one may not be the thing for others.

I currently have my GSD on RC and also my Giant Schnauzers. Great results for all. My GSD has such a sensitive stomach, and this is the only food that has settled that issue. Beautiful coat, and plenty of energy for a 6 year old!! Same goes for my GS, and yes, it is expensive, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for!!

I will let you know, my new sweetie came home yesterday and thats what she has been eating and i trust her breeder and her other mom and dad, they swear by it. She had no trouble eating it on my lap as i was checking it sitting on the couch How much do folks pay for it? I got a 35lb bag for 38.99 plus tax that is in Fairfield County CT. Is this the typical price? i can get in NH for no tax if i am in NH a few times a month i have to buy my other dogs their food its called Wellness. Dawnmarie

It is a dollar cheaper for you, we pay $ 39.99 at Pepco here in Maryland. Chris
