Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone could help me out with finding a reputable breeder in Colorado? I am simply looking for a companion GSD with excellent temperment around children etc.,health, and obedience. I have only found a couple breeders so far, and only one of those has actually been e-mailing me back. I was hoping I could find a breeder that would sell me a good puppy for $1,000 or less, as I am not planning on showing my dog so I would not like to spend more than that. If I could get some help that would be great! Thank you so much! I am new to this whole "finding a breeder" business, so I would appreciate any honest help I could get. If you would like to e-mail me privately my address is, wolf2807@unco.edu

Not Colorado, but I know of a long coat Crok grandson that may still be available at a reasonable price in the middle of Kansas. He's a real pretty sable, large bone and a sweetie. Private e-mail me if you're interested. CH

Thank you Oddbjørn for the recommendation but I am not a top breeder and I only breed selected, titled dogs. I do have a Kevin v. Murrtal X Donna von der Biberfalle litter due this weekend. I have already been in contact with wolf2807 and when the time is right *(she lives in an apartment where she can not have a dog), I have already told her I can help her find a pup or refer her to a reputable breeder. She has made it clear she is only interested in a companion and does not want to do Schutzhund or show, but I still think we can find her a nice pup.

Here's some other breeders in Colorado http://adelhaus.homestead.com http://rockymountaingsd.com http://www.worldclassgsd.com http://www.klgsd.com http://www.einhaltung.com (however, they breed mostly untitled dogs, but from decent lines that may be more in your price range) http://ravenshuegel.freeservers.com

www.klgsd.com is located in Montana.... They have been around for a while, and do their homework when breeding. If anyone is looking in Colorado, both Rocky Mountain and Einhaltung are kennels very worthy of looking in to. Another very recommended kennel with nice dogs and contientious breeding is 'von Dortmunder'. I do not believe that 'Ravenshuegel' is breeding or involved, at the current moment, with their dogs. You will not be able to find any kennel where every client is happy or a dog has not had problems. If any breeder tells you this, they are not being exactly truthful being truthful. The best is to see the total 'package' of the kennel, including the dogs, goals of the breeding (even if you are looking for a companion), certifications, and comfort levels. For anyone looking for a nice puppy whether it be companion, sport or show, there are breeders worth considering in Colorado and the Region. Regards, Christi www.adelhaus.com

Sorry if all the info wasn't correct, I was trying to find some kennels for you through the web. Christi is right, you cannot make everyone happy all of the time. If a breeder breeds enough he/she is bound to leave some people unsatisfied. And sometimes those people have unrealistic expectations. In addition if a breeder has enough litters they are bound to run into health problems, even hip displasia. A gaurantee doesn't mean your pup 100% won't have any problems it means if something does crop up, it will be replaced for what it is gauranteed on. Puppies are a crap shoot. Good luck, Melanie
