This is getting to be a common scam. They want to send a money order for more than the amount needed to pay for the dog... then they want YOU to send them CASH back (all before you realize the check is fake). Most of the scam artists are from Nigeria, but pretend they are from other countries. I've gotten a couple of these offers to "buy" a dog in the past month from scammers. Yup, and they usually want a couple of pups, and they will send their "agent" with a cashiers check, and to "check out the dogs". I have received several of these scams.

@VanGuard, yes you¿re right. Last Year 3 people from Nigeria and Ireland want to make the same thing with dogs from me. Names: BOB TETZ from Afrika /Ireland and today MRS.DR.TERESA from CANADA. Please people, do not accept cheques!!! TAKE CARE!!!

I posted earlier that I am a newby to the board, and not only own a GSD, but a Giant Schnauzer. While selling her pups, I can't tell you how many emails I received with the same context. Most of them talking about "your product"...what am I selling? Tires? Although they are humerous to read, they are total scams.I once emailed one of them back asking where they were located, and all they could say was "...in the USA." I save these emails just to show people that it really does happen. Good call on the warning!!

Yes, big scam!! Had this one person would not take NO and still sent the cashier's check and was calling through the internet relay service. Operator verified to me was a scam and gave me the phone # to have a block put on the phone. My husband who works for local law enforcement agency was taking a FBI class and gave them the money order. Cashier's check looked legite and was drawn on a bank in St Petersburg FL. Long story short it was a very believe fraudulent check. Bank told us it would have went into the account and cleared 30-60 days later when check goes through the clearing house they would have detected that it was a fraud and would have withdrawn money back from our account. Can you image what impact that would do to a person. Great scam deposit 5k give them back $2500 of yourmoney. My question is if they do pick up the dogs what happens to them? Poor animals. I am sure many have been taken by this.

You are all absolutely correct. Watch out for a Calvin McCarthy, Ashley, Paul who have all tried this gimmick with me but did not succeed.

Oh my goodness!! That is the exact same email I received from the same person!!!! He wanted a GS pup from me....NOT!! Unbelievable!! Like I said, I have received many like this, but never expected to see the same email on a board!! Too crazy.
