It has recently come to my attention (AGAIN) that a puppy I bred is featured on his own page on the stalworth kennels website. His name is Dieter vom Frauengarten. Apparently if one does a search on my kennel name, the page comes up on the search engines.
Dieter does not now, never has belonged to Stalworth kennels (Canada) ... and never will. He belongs to a woman named Denise in MA, has for over a year. He is not for sale and never will be. He is not standing at stud, and to the best of our knowledge he is not sneaking out of the house and running up to Canada to moonlight after Denise goes to bed at night.
I have asked th owner of the site to remove the page with Dieter on it more than once, but so far that has not happened.
I have no affiliation with that kennel, never met the owners in person.
My puppy/dog sales contract specifically states that if a buyer can no longer keep their Frauengarten dog for any reason, I have first right of refusal and will either take/buy the dog back or assist in re-homing the dog. If somebody wants a Frauengarten dog, they pretty much have to come to me. That's my responsibility as a breeder and a lover of the breed.
I do wish people would stop doing stuff like this.

Shelley, A couple of suggestions if I may.
1. Post the above information on Dieter's page so if someone comes looking for his pedigree from their site they can easily spot the fraud.
2. On their page with Dieter they show these Registration numbers Dual registered; CKC #1098172, AKC #DN18638006 If in fact that is his AKC number I would first contact the CKC and ask for the fraud department and then contact AKC and again ask for fraud and see if they have been registering any dogs using that number. If not his number perhaps they will id the dog ( I think you can actually look up the AKC one yourself) which could expose other elements or victims of the fraud.
3. I would contact their ISP w/ your proof and demand THEY take down the page as I'm sure it will be a violation of their rules. Check whois.net
4. I would contact the Ottawa Police or RCMP and lodge a complaint because they have to be getting some economic benefit from using his name, picture and pedigree which most likely means they are selling some other dogs using his information.
5. On their home page they list a number of handlers with the Edmonton police department that have their dogs. Might be worth the cost of a phone call to them also. I would think they would have to wonder what's going on also.

Hmmmm Wonder if she'll be attending the Canadian Sieger Show this year?

She took the page down yesterday. I suspect Dieter's owner laid into her pretty good on the phone. She was LIVID. (she's a detective herself in MA) Thanks for the help. Hopefully this won't happen again for awhile.
Might be worth a contact to the CKC to see if any dogs are registered as being sired by Dieter, even though he was only a puppy yet when he came back here. I have heard some pretty horrible stories about
"some people.." breeding other people's dogs without permission since I posted this thread.
Thanks all,
SS

Ugh, I'd be furious, too. I have a related situation myself that is not yet resolved. Glad to hear she took him off her site.

We did NOT wish to purchase Dieter for ourselves. The owner asked if we could assist him to sell the dog. The owner brought Dieter to our facility where we assessed his temperament and level of training. Based on our observations during that assessment we were willing to work with the owner to help find Dieter a home. Included in this help was a listing in our For Sale page. We arranged a photo shoot and took a series of beautiful photographs of Dieter to be used on the sale page. The photos of Dieter were taken here at our facility and were not provide by a third party. We checked the ID and had the owner provide us with copies of the AKC and CKC registration papers in order to validate the dog's identity.
We had suggested to the owner that he contact the breeder to see if she would be interested in purchasing the dog back or if she could help him place the pup. For whatever reasons the owner did NOT wish to return the dog to the breeder. We were not advised by the owner when the dog was returned to Shelly (the breeder) and so the ad remained in place.
10 July 2009 we received a rather abrupt and accusatory email from Shelly demanding to know our affiliation with "her" dog. We were surprised by the message. The situation was explained and immediately upon her request Dieter was removed from our For Sale page and the photos posted to the sold dog's page. Her tone had changed, she was happy and friendly and was telling me about Dieter's father coming out of retirement. We believed the situation was resolved.
1 January 2009 at 12:41 PM we received yet another abrupt email from Shelly. I had no idea what she was talking about. Through further correspondence we were able to determine that although Dieter's page had been removed from our For Sale page the photographs (which were copyright to our kennel) were still able to be viewed on the Sold Dog's page. The sold page was removed immediately upon Shelly's request so as to avoid any further confusion. By 1:57 PM on 1 January 2009 the page was removed from our site completely.
Shelly's accusations that Dieter's owner "laid into us pretty good on the phone" are entirely false. We have never heard from or spoken to Dieter's current owner. Shelley's right about one thing though, we have no affiliation with her kennel, we never have had and we NEVER will have any affiliation with her dogs. I'm not sure what Shelly's issue is with our kennel, however she is way out of line on this thread of email. There has NEVER been any fraudulent activity by our kennel nor has there been any hostility on our part with regards to this matter. On the contrary we've been done everything humanly possible to meet her requests. We wish her all the best and hope that Dieter is happy in his new home.
We take great pride in our integrity. Our kennel's reputation is exceptional. We offer excellent customer care and we raise only the highest quality working dogs.
Should anyone have any questions regarding this matter, or regarding any of our our dog's I would invite you to contact us directly.

Maybe they just found out the thread existed and wanted to present their side.

Shelly has always come across as a very responsible and reliable person. Have never seen her join in on the endless criticisms of other people and dogs that goes on here.
Stallworth had a good explanation of what happened and apparently they never profited from the dog. There are lots of breeders who offer other's dogs for sale or placement.
JMHO,
Rik
