I am about to try with two....one that I am serious about (female) and one that just enjoys sport but isn't a competitor (male)....my fiancee will be handling the male at times.  The female is all mine.  I don't think I could handle three at once, but I'm still a newbie.  Good luck....I'd like to hear how it goes for you with three as it's something we've talked about in our household in time, when I become a better, more experienced handler.

I think most serious competitors stick with one dog.  There is so much time and effort that is required I can't see how you can give the attention to more than one dog unless the second dog is already titled and you are just working on cleaning things up!

Just owning three GSDs is work let alone trying to train them all for Sch, unless of course this is your only job then that may be different.

no. I only have focus time and energy for one.

But, I know a couple of people way older than me with a couple of dogs at once, working.

I can't remember. 4 or 5 in a trial in '96 or '97, from BH's to SchH 3 if I remember right. I remember one BH failed, took a hike on the long down. LOL  I like to keep it down to 1-2 if I can, but when I'm on a time schedule and there aren't many events being held locally I want to enter I figure what the hell? Go for it. Gas is expensive. Some of them are BOUND to pass. Ha ha ha ha ha

Oh yeah. I had 3 dogs entered for 4 titlesin Long Island in Sept. The FH was rained out/cancelled so I only did 2 BH's and an AD, and used "T" (Carol) for the demo dog for a SchH3. 5 entered in the show the same weekend.

Right now I am working 3 dogs in Schutzhund. One I am getting ready for his SchH1...hopefully in March. The other male I am getting ready for his BH. The female I am working I am getting her ready for he BH also. I am hopeing to trial all 3 in March/April of this year.

So it can be done. It is just ALOT of work. Since I work full time also. But it keeps me out of trouble...hehe. I enjoy working the dogs.

This is fun to me ,I hate goff (If you played like me you'd understand) I cannot do what most people call fun like. boating, ski diveing  skying,  underwater diveing etc. schutzhund is like a science getting the dog to do things that are not easy. Every dog is diffrent. I just like being around my dogs. loyal to the end. I.m going to try 3 dogs.

It can be done yes.   But for me, training two different dogs was rough.  Especially two entirely different dogs.  I just don't think you can give them both 100% attention in all three phases.
