When I was a kid and watched the Lassie show I really believed all those story lines.  Like when Lassie told everyone Timmy was in the well, and the time she practically raised  wild orphaned wolf cubs by bringing them food then bringing in the humans.   Every week brought a new adventure to demonstrate Lassie's amazing and incredible abilities to save lives, figure out problems and other feats of daring do.  Then I grew up and realized it was great entertainment, but not actually based in fact.

Stop drinking the kool aid.

You know, it must be fun to call someone a liar when they're not here to defend themselves...

Takes a lot of guts, doesn't it?

Do you do this to your friends, too?

Most dog owners can tell you stories about being rescued by a dog, or a dog doing something incredibly smart. I could tell you one myself, and I know it's true, because I WAS THERE.

Wasn't a Shiloh, though...

I believe it takes a special kind of intelligence for a dog to assess a situation, and realize something is wrong, and try to fix it.

I believe intelligence CAN be selected for. That's what the Shiloh breed founder did when she crossed Shep (who saved her daughter, Lisa, from a crib death) with Kari, the SAR dog, who saved that little girl.

But, some  people seem to enjoy going through life, always believing the worst is true of everyone. Must be a pretty rotten way to live, but that's YOUR choice.

Now, I think I'll mosey on over to the ISSR forum, where a couple of people once offered to help pay for my service dog's treatment when he needed an expensive ultrasound done to check for prostate cancer. Where Tina arranged for a young boy undergoing a stem cell transplant for cancer to have his dream come true, and DONATED a Shiloh pup to  him. Forum members helped with the costs to ship the pup all the way to Holland!

Recently, forum members helped to raise money for a lady's Shiloh service dog to have expensive surgery for entorpion of the eyelids. It was a very, very bad case, and the surgery was very expensive.

Have a nice day, everyone!

I had a crush on Lassie as a young lad, dreaming of ways to actually get Timmy into that well and cover him up, have Lassie all to my self.
Then I learned Lassie was a dude, you might have well told me Santa was the devil.
I went through several years of therapy before I could go back to school and show my face again in public.
I still bare the scars.
We had no cool aid back then, damnit !

Be glad you didn't, Two Moons. The koolaid they are referring to is a much more sinister type of drink. It's the stuff used in the Jonestown massacre, if I'm catching their meaning correctly....

I just watched a TV documentary about Jimmy this week on PBS.
Yeah I think your right about the koolaid.

"I think the title is a typo, and it's supposed to read GV (Grand Victor) Ch.   I've discovered that once titles are entered in pedigrees, they cannot be changed, so if you make a mistake, it's there for good."

I just tried editing a dog's name & title on this db and it made the change with no problem.  Otherwise how are other people able to update as their dogs add titles?

And again, if the ISSDC issues "Grand Victor" titles, that needs to be explained that's where the title came from.  It is extremely misleading to list non-recognized titles on this database.

Sorry about the entorpion, which happens to be a genetic defect.

Nope, not going to move on when you come on here adding mixed breed dogs with phantom titles to a GSD pedigree database.  By listing these mixes with their made-up "Grand Victor" awards you are deliberately misleading all the new people who come on here and are trying to learn about the German Shepherd Dog.  Then these poor people pay money for a puppy by "CV CH Bionic Black Smoke of Zion" "because he's a Grand Victor, just like those other German Shepherds," and then they find out that he's not like those other GSD at all.  In fact, he's not even a GSD.  "But he's listed on the Pedigree Database.  It says he's a Grand Victor!"

Reprehensible.

Hey, do you think Tess knows how to read?     I didn't add that dog to the database. I've stated so twice already.

And if it isn't a AKC title, then it would be an ISSR title, not the one Tess listed.

Olie must have upgraded the pedigree function. In the past, I tried correcting a ped. where I added the DOB in the title section by accident, and I was unable to remove it.

Yes, I think Tess reads well.  She simply caught you in another "joke."

Not to be an irritant but that is not a pedigree,  theres nothing there.
Its hardly worth the space.   Its not my space so I don't care, but how long can anyone argue about something so trivial.
This seems more of a personal thing to me and I think I'll leave you guys to it.
