Uber land, I don't know if Oli will answer you on this, but others have asked it too. There are static and dynamic IP addresses depending on how you connect to the Internet. With a static address, it is always the same so can be blocked. With dynamic it is often different and if you block it, you can block innocent users too. For example, some jerk might be cruising around using unsecured wireless networks he picks up so his IP address is always different or he might use different cyber cafes, or he might even spoof IP addresses.

I'm not giving away any secrets here. Even kids know these things today.

So if I am reading this correctly, Oli implemented the General Topics section for topics relating to ALL BREEDS  of dogs.
In fact,  currently I see ELEVEN threads on the first page of this INTERNATIONAL FORUM that are not only NOT dog related, they are applicable only to that very obnoxious animal called American Politics.

I bump this thread with the hopes people will please come to their senses, stop abusing the freedoms Oli affords us on this board, maybe have some courtesy for the rest of the world, and go talk politics on a political message board, it doesn't belong here.  It's one thing to talk politics every now and again, but when you dominate the board with your endless new threads about local state and national politics, you are bumping the dog related threads.  People come here to talk about dogs, not your politics, and when they see the entire first page is nothing but your politics they just go away.  You really are wrecking the board for everyone else.   We have lost too many members who were valuable for their knowledge about dogs.  It's time to stop.

The individual breed sections are for topics that are breed specific, the general topics section is for topics applicable to all breeds.

I have noticed the ones that add the most to the OT posts add the least to the dog related posts.  You do have to wade through all of the OT stuff to get to the dog stuff.  Maybe Oli coudl add a section for non dog related topics.

Why do those of you who only post to political threads  come to the Pedigree Data Base when you have no interest in discussing anything related to dogs?  Why do you come to this dog message board when you have nothing to contribute with regards to dogs?  Have you been kicked off all the political message boards or something?  I mean come on, this is PEDIGREE DATABASE MESSAGE BOARD.  What ever gave any of you the idea this forum was the place to share your political opinions?   I am honestly looking for a legitimate reason why anyone who wants to do NOTHING but talk politics thinks the logical answer is to come to a DOG message board?  You people have got to be kidding if you think anyone appreciates your constant blasting the board with this crap.

I don't believe this nonsense.  WHAT is so difficult about the concept of a DOG-related forum?   When you have exhausted all you think you  can learn or discuss ABOUT DOGS,  you can simply go to another type of forum.  If your primary interest is discussing American politics, there are plenty of political forums where that can be appropriately done.   Again, what is the problem with understanding the basic concept?

ATTA GIRL, SUE! They have no self-restraint, or consideration, so that all these threads scream, PERSONAL AGENDA.

HOW effing obnoxious.
