Red Sable

I found this little girl just 100 yds past my laneway, spinning on the road, she was thin, hungry, and had one eye stuck shut, that was Friday morning.  Now she is  feeling great and putting on weight.  Both dogs have accepted her into the family.  Gizmo is so happy to have found something smaller than him!

I have a feeling that "Gizmo" will revert back to being the smallest very shortly. So he is very smart to make friends now. What great pictures. Is the little guy people friendly?

Looks like she feels pretty safe all snuggled up to her new German Shepherd friend. LOL

She is very sweet!   I have her on the bottle as she's shown no interest in eating solid foods yet.

Here she is cuddling my husband, she purrs like a kitten when she is happy.

amazing, if the critter were any larger, they may have killed it. funny how dogs and sometimes cats understand "babies"

my horse was the same, once my toddler escaped from the house while I was vacuuming. terrified, I looked everywhere and found him under my horse trying to climb up her lets. the horse was spread out and sweating looking down the best she could. I grabbed the kid, petted the the horse. best i could tell, she hand not moved for some time, because when she did more there were patterns of sweat in the dirt around the area where her hooves used to be........it was August in Houston, in direct son, it only takes a few minutes to get that sweaty.

great photos, are you able to handle the racoon? if so, find a vet you trust, if so get it a checkup and all the various shots,,,,,,,just in case.

Yeah, raccoons are the number one carrier for rabies, so to be on the safe side, I'd get her checked out.

They really are cute when they're that small!

She is soo cute!!  We get raccoons occasionally, but we rarely see their kits, she is so lucky to have been found by you.

my father found one once on our old property,  she had fell out of the nest and was drowning in a creek which ran beside the property.I think she was smaller than the one you found.  I don't even think her eyes were open.  we bottle fed her and got her onto soft baby food a few weeks later.  She was fun for a while,  till she got about 6 months old,  then she became a night mare.  She would hide under furniture and then run out and attack our feet and bite our lower legs.  We eventually found a rescue place for wild animals and they took her.

a guy my dad grew up always kept them as pets,  I swear he had 50 lb ones.  his were really tame and nice,  I guess it is just individual personalities.

Most of the ones I have seen grow up fresh . That purring will soon be growling . Yes you should look into a rescue for it when it gets older and bigger . Take a good look at it's teeth . Yikes they do bite !!
