Lets hear everyones opinion on the finish to the heel positioin. Do you teach the flip finish or to go arounhd behind. Please tell me you preferance and pros and cons between the two.
Thanks

if the dog is sharp a flip finish is great, but if the dog is a bit slower, then the go around is much better. Its the total "picture" that counts.

and keeps the dog close to you, also, try a lot of left turn moves, that gets the dog to move close without knowing and then
it becomes second nature

go around. to much room for error with the dog being crooked on the flip.

something I have observed regarding flips or rounds- not only the drive/intesity of the dogs work but also the physical build of the dog. While a longer backed dog may look cumbersome doing a flip it could look graceful and smooth going around & a shorter backed dog can look flashy popping quickly in to basic position while the around the back is just extra foot work.

A longer dog can still look very clean doing a flip finish if they are taught to back into it.
