This is just my opinion, I believe in tried and true dewormers that have been proven safe and used only after a fecal sample
has been tested coming back positive. The HWP that dogs are on in todays world help to prevent future infection. If there are break thru and the dog still contacted worms an environment problem needs to be worked with.

Always,
Cee

Hi Cee,

I appreciate your statements, but what part of the country do you live in?  I moved here to FL 8 .5 yrs ago from ME, where things died off during the winter.  Here in FL it never dies!  The heat and humidity are horrible.

I am looking for a more holistic way of doing things with the dogs, and poisoning them with dewormers every few months is not my bag.  My vet actually gave me the site to look at.

To each his own I guess, was just wanting input from other people that might be using this product.

Thanks

I've been using this for a few months now and so I can't vouch for its effectiveness but I also feel the need to do something more holistic.  It can also be sprinkled on the dog's coats for protection against fleas and ticks.

I bought bulk food grade DE at this site: www.shadowridgedonkeys.com/ds_pg_cart.htm Excellent service!

I've been using it DE for only a few weeks.  While I haven't used it for worms, aleady, I notice vast improvement in the coats of my adult GSDs. Their coats are more than just shiney--they absolutely sparkle!. I give them about 1/2 tablespoon daily mixed in with their raw diet.

I tried giving oral DE, but several of my dogs don't seem to be able to handle it, it gives some blood streaked stools with lots of mucus.

I just started using it a month ago...Recommended by   a Vet and from reading several knowledgeable sites, like above and the word of many cattle and dog breeders all over the state of TEXAS.....we have major flea and tick problems here.

Also   son killed three copperheads in 36 hours so I am hoping to use it  or the other grade around my house up close where I have to walk and work ..Already lost mega dollars from a snake bit from a copperhead in May on my female ready for whelp...Hoping the  DE works on snakes , ridding me of the nasty pests.

Vet advised me to be sure and put DE where beds are and flower beds or places dogs lay or places cool where fleas and snakes like to hide out.....am doing that ...also adding  1  heaping teaspoon to dog food once a day......also dusted my sun room as I had a visitor with fleas and left a few behind.

Only drawback to that, is , the dust it makes and it will not vacuum up without spreading even in a Rainbow vac...the silky powder is so fine it makes it thru the sealant of the vaccuum cleaner and makes a big dust in house.....Oh , well,,,I will just take a day and redust all my goodies...That is why they make those nice wipies...called SWIFFERS..

I've been using DE for about over a year now. I honestly haven't used it specifically for worms but my dog's do really good on it, and have had no problems with worms etc. Where I got my DE from they said to use 1 tablespoon full a day on dog's that are 60 pounds and over. If you do put it on your  dog's or sprinkle it any where you NEED to wear a mask when doing this. I hope it does work for your snake problem YR. It can also be used on humans as well. My mom had breast cancer and they told her to get this expensive shampoo and cream rinse that would grow her hair back, which it didn't do. she started taking the DE and her hair started to grow back as well as her nails. Just thought that would be some good info if no one knew about that part of the DE.

Thanks  Kelly  that is good to know...the older we get the more minerals we need in our body..I told Louise Penery  I would wait to see if she croaked...!!!!!!

Guess your mom is ok  .. I just have a hard time putting something in my drink ,,that I put on the floor, in the yard , in the dog kennel floor  and on the dog, not only that but it is silk ....it is so fine....  Yes you should wear a mask..it is like  a fine dust storm in my house.....I tried vacuuming it up and forget that.........have to broom sweep and just leave it in sun room...I certainly do not have  a flea or bug problem...

Odoban did the trick for ants and flies  and this DE just got the flea problem someone left me a gift of  , taken care of inside without chemicals..

I have a terrible time taking apple cider vinegar also.....of course, we never like things good for us...we love the bad things  like  OREO cookies..with food additives to make us crave them......FDA would want us to know that..

Read Kevin Treadeau's books about" Natural cures, What they do Not Want YOU  to know.."..

My mom has been cancer free going on 11 years now :-)  She actually mixes the DE in with her V8 so she can hardly taste the DE. I tried it myself and stopped, but that is just me. I worry more about my animals than I do myself.
