finally worked Eros today. the trainer/agitator had nothing but good things to say about him.

his look, his temperment, and a nice FULL bite on the puppy sleeve.

he even said i should AKC register him.

he seems to think people will want to use him as a stud after he is fully trained and hips/elbows are certified.  he looks exactly like Pluto PZ.his grand sire

maybe i will breed him to Kira after he turns 2.
he is very laid back and Kira is not bouncing off the walls either.

i think they would make great "pets" for people who just want a QUALITY german shepherd as a protection dog and best friend.
i will only breed if i have a list of 5-6 people wanting a pup. i will not breed just to breed!!!!

It's very hard to know in advance how to pick a mate.  The odds are very low that you happen to own Kira (or Eros')  best match.  Sorry!

I thought you wanted to do PPD?

He's not registered? I'm confused.

I totally agree w/MVF; the chances of you happening to own the two perfect dogs are slim to none. If you sought an adult to purchase for breeding with an adult you already have, that's different...but to buy a pup and have him turn out to be perfect is a tough one.

I do agree that w/his lineage he would probably produce a more moderate temperament than some working lines; Pluto was not known as a very hard dog.

kcaja, i am doing PP. Jenn, he is not AKC registered. only because i didn't know what i was going to do with him. and if i am not breeding or showing why should i give them money. he has his pink papers.

thanx for the let down  kidding.

of course i don't own the perfect dogs. who does,
but there are people out there who have absolute CRAP who breed.

not saying i want to be like them, but atleast i do train them for personal protection. and yes that has cost me quite a bit of money. Kira is now doing muzzle work.
Kira's pups are wanted by quite a few people.
the problem is most of the non-sport dog people really don't know about solid black Gsd.
sad isn't it.
i had 10 people wanting a pup from her and my yasko farbenspiel son, and he's a coat!! so i did not do that breeding.
but Kira and Eros i think will make very nice pups for the average person who wants a quality bred GSD that doesn't cost 2,000.00
sorry if you don't agree but don't put me down either, please :)) thanx Dawn

PP is defensive, he's just a pup...you were given sound advice on your other thread.  Have fun, either way.

Don't forget all the people who say "omg I want a puppy" vanish like smoke when pups are on the ground!

Dawn, we meant the perfect dogs for EACH OTHER. You're talking about breeding. What are the chances that each one's perfect match happens to be the other one? You misunderstood what we meant entirely. No one was implying you think you have the perfect dogs or that there is anything wrong with them...it's just a fact that we usually have to go outside our own home/kennel to find a true breeding quality dog's IDEAL counterpart. To end up with that when buying a puppy would be a miracle. That's why people pay stud fees.

hi Jenn, the chances are pretty good in my eyes. EROS happenes to be that dog that i would pay a stud fee for.

EROS has a very lively character
full of temperament,
He possesses the best combination of Czech dogs
with proven west German working bloodline

i  am expecting  EROS to further strengthen, bone strength, stud expression, beautiful pigmentation and working willingness.

EROS has the legendary look of the east German bloodlines along with the wonderful temperament and performance qualities of the west German working lines.
Magnificent broad head, correct ear set and unforgettable expression.
 Beautiful solid black coloring.
Absolutely rock solid temperament with nerves to match.
Can go anywhere, anytime, day or night and never be nervous, totally self-confident in all situations.

EROS has EVERYTHING I am looking for in a stud dog to breed to Kira.
Temperament, drive, character, calmness, aggressiveness, absolutely beautiful conformation, stunning color, gorgeous bone structure and an imposing outstanding expressive MALE head.
